Improving the mastery level on image formation by the convex lens using Light
Ray - Behold the Amazing Lens: a strategic intervention material (SIM) in Physics 10 is
the main purpose of this study. The least learned competency during the First Quarter
Examination A.Y. 2018 – 2019 was the basis in developing the SIM. The developed SIM
was validated by master teachers which showed results that all the card guidelines were
very evident. The respondents of the study were the thirty-eight (38) low performing
students who scored below 75% or Did Not Meet Expectations (DO. 8, s. 2015) in the
conducted pre-test during the first grading period A.Y. 2019 – 2020. Z-test analysis on
the pre-test and post-test mean scores of the respondents revealed a p-value of 0.000
tested at a 5% level of significance incurred that there is a significant difference between
the pre-test and post-test scores. With this, Light Ray - Behold the Amazing lens is an
effective strategic intervention material in improving the mastery level on image
formation by the convex lens of low performing students.
