Cooking of Pinakbet

Pinakbet is an indigenous Ilocano food. Pinakbet is made

from mixed vegetables steamed in a fish or shrimp sauce. The
word is the contracted form of the Ilokano word pinakebet which
means shrunk or shrivelled. Using the freshest vegetables is ideal
for pinakbet. This dish is best paired with fried fish.

You are please by your mother to go to the supermarket

and purchase the following ingredients to cook pinakbet for your
lunch.
1 pouch 100 grams Bagoong
¾ kilo of fish
5 different kinds of vegetables (1 piece Ampalaya, 12 pieces sitaw, ½ piece kalabasa, 10
pieces okra and 4 pieces eggplant)
¼ kilo of each (tomatoes, ginger, onion, garlic)
500 grams cooking oil
