Upgrade of an NS700 to anything higher than v4.4xxxx requires more memory than any previous version.
Due to this fact, you must run the NS700 New Firmware Prep Tool prior to upgrading any NS700 system. The
following instructions are all performed by connecting your PC to the Master NS1000 in your One-Look
Configuration except the last step of Registering the PBXs.
Make a Backup!
Please make a backup of PBX programming from the Master KX-NS1000 before starting this procedure.
1
Firmware Prep Tool Load
Load the Firmware Prep Tool file into the system using IE11 or Firefox by logging into the Master KX-NS1000.
These will be the file you downloaded from the Partner Portal website and
unzipped to a location on your computer.
2
Click OK on the following warning screen.
3
Select Immediately under the
Program Update Type.
Under “Available Program File (s)”, make sure to select the NS700 tab of the NS700s you will be upgrading. Also make
sure that the firmware Version says “009.009” and the Revision shows “980”.
Under “Select the target to update”, check the box next to MainUnit.
Note: If you have multiple NS700s that need to be upgraded, make sure to go under every NS700 tab and select the MainUnit for upgrade.
4
Note
Once the KX-NS700 is done rebooting, return to the maintenance section to review the Update Program File section.
When system recovers from the reboot, there will not be any main unit firmware available to update, regardless of any
version you previously had downloaded and installed. The PFMPR_009_980 file is self-removing.
5
Upgrade to Latest Version Firmware
Load the v5.00112 firmware file for both the KX-NS700 and KX-NS1000 into the Master KX-NS1000 using IE11 or
Firefox.
