Stephen Hawking is a gifted person because he exhibited some characteristics that make him
one. His very act of theorizing on the existence of blackholes based on the work of Albert Einstein’s
General Theory of Relativity and the Quantum Mechanics proves that Hawking possesses the
combination of intense intellectual curiosity and the ability to relate one idea to another. These traits
of him are surely what enabled him to come up with such a novel idea that people prior to him had
not thought would be possible. The intensity of his intellectual curiosity was beyond telling that it
drove him to undertake several studies on things that mankind had not put its interest on several
years before. Moreover, as his biography states, Hawking has the tendency towards introversion
which is a characteristic of those with IQ scores 3 standard deviation or greater above the mean.
According to him, quiet people have the loudest minds. His tendency towards introversion could be
traced back when he was young, and his family would not simply talk to each other during meals but
would instead kill time by reading. He may have changed his aura during college days a bit but his
preference for introversion is would come in hand from time to time.
