Lesson 1
Adult Coloring Books: STILL the Hottest Book Trend on Amazon
In 2019, there’s no better selling niche than adult coloring books, with 50+ adult coloring
books with best seller rankings under 10,000 as of August 2019.

And a 10,000 best seller ranking means the book is selling at least 374 copies per month!
At $2 profit per book, that’s $748 per month, per book.
Kids’ Coloring Books Are Selling, Too!
I Am Confident, Brave & Beautiful: A Coloring Book for
Girls has been in the top 100 best selling books on
Amazon for much of 2019.

We’ve taken all the work out of finding niches that are already selling so that you can take
advantage of organic Amazon traffic and create books that customers are actually buying.

Review these lists for best selling book trends to jump on,
or combine trends to create your own!
Lesson 2
Instead of paying a designer hundreds of dollars to create coloring page
designs, you can quickly and easily create your own using the millions of
images available online that are completely FREE for commercial use.

The best sites for high quality illustrations for creating your coloring pages:

Pixabay
Freepik
Noun Project
Pixabay
Pixabay offers ONLY free-for-commercial-use images. No attribution required!

FreePik
Pixabay offers both free and premium (paid) images for commercial use. When searching, click
on the FILTERS option in the right corner, and then click Free.
Free images require attribution (check out the attribution page template
Included with the course!). Premium images require no attribution.

Noun Project
Noun Project offers icons that are free for commercial use with attribution.
Believe it or not, icons are the quickest and easiest route to creating your
Own coloring page designs.
In the rest of this lesson, you’re going to learn how to create coloring page designs from the free
images you can find on the previously mentioned websites.

To create the designs, you will either need:

Photoshop CC (preferably the 2019 version) - Cost: $10 - $20 per month

Or

Photopea.com - Cost: FREE

Photopea is almost an exact duplicate of Photoshop and has all the same features, but could
possibly run a bit slower on your computer.

Even if you’ve never used Photoshop, Photopea, or other image editors before, don’t worry!

I’ll explain in step-by-step detail every action you need to take to create these coloring page designs.
I’ve developed these methods to be as quick and simple as possible, and once you’ve created a few
images, you’ll get the knack of these techniques quickly.
When creating your coloring page designs, there are three different types of images to look for:

Silhouettes Illustrations With Black Outlines Illustrations Without Black Outlines

The methods in this course allow you to create coloring page designs from just about any illustration.
Please note that these methods don’t allow you to create coloring page designs from photographs.

EASY: Silhouettes are extremely easy to create with no tweaking required.

MEDIUM: Illustrations WITH Black Outlines are easy to create and usually require no tweaking.
DIFFICULT: Illustrations WITHOUT Black Outlines are trickier to create, but are usually still doable.

I recommend you get comfortable creating silhouette designs and illustrations with black outlines
before trying to create designs from images without black outlines.
Before you can start creating your designs, you’ll need a coloring page
template to drop your designs into to create your 8.5 x 11 inch
(standard-sized) coloring book. Two templates have been included in this
course (one with a border and one without) for you to use, but on the
following page you’ll find a quick video tutorial on how to create your own.

It’s easy to add more complexity to your adult coloring book
pages by framing your main design with mandalas.

You can overlap mandalas,

Set them in the corners
Of your images, or set
Them behind your main
design.

Create Your Final Coloring
Book To Sell On Amazon
If you don’t have Word (or even if you do -- this is a much faster and easier way to create your
coloring books), you can use Google Slides to create your coloring books.

I’ve already made a template for you so all you have to do is drop your coloring pages in and you’re
ready to publish!

Here’s the link to your Google Slides Coloring Book Template.

1. Click on the link and you’ll see the template.

2. Then just click on File - Make a copy.
3. Drop your designs in and you’re done!

When you’re finished, click on File - Download as - PDF.

This PDF file is ready to upload to KDP.Amazon.com!

Attribution for Free Images Used
In the template, you’ll notice that on the copyright page, there is a section
to credit illustrators for the images used from websites like FreePik.com
and TheNounProject.com. If you haven’t paid for a premium membership
for these sites, they do require attribution. So just fill out the Images
section and you’re ready to go! If you have paid for a premium
membership, you aren’t required to credit the website for the images.
Creating a finished coloring book to upload to Amazon is fast and easy.

1. Create an account at KDP.Amazon.com

2. Drag and drop your coloring pages into the included Word doc or Google Slides template.
3. Save the Word doc or Google Slide as a PDF.
4. Under “Create A New Title”, click on, “Paperback”.
5. Fill out the paperback details information.
KDP will guide you through this process.
6. Upload your PDF interior.
7. Upload your PDF cover.
(a correctly-sized template is included in this course)
8. Launch Previewer to check out your book and make sure it looks perfect.
9. Set your pricing.

And you’re done!

Your book will be approved in 2-3 days and will start to show up on Amazon in about a week.
