Life is meaningful when you always look towards a goal

Life without a purpose is meaningless; every person should have a goal in their life that

they should be striving to get to. It’s been said that a life without a goal is like a race without a

finish line, you are running to nowhere. Having a goal is tremendously important; it provides a

way of life and makes every step towards the future interesting.

As we all know, life is more interesting and challenging when we have a purpose to strive

for. But, why does always looking towards a goal makes life meaningful? First of all, goals are the

roots of our motivation and inspiration in our daily activities. It fuels us with the energy to live,

gives us happiness and a concrete objective to focus on. Secondly, a life without a goal is simply

like shooting an arrow without a target, you’re aiming at nothing. Hence, setting goals are

necessary because it gives our life a sense of direction and satisfaction when we achieve them.

Lastly, it make our life fulfilling and worth cherishing. For example, think about the most exciting

or meaningful times in your life and you will most likely found that those were the times when

you were fighting for a worthwhile goal that was important to you

In short, looking toward a goal provides us happiness, target, fulfilment and a sense of

direction which gives meaning to life. With it, it is possible to make a significant progress and

achieve something big. In conclusion, life without a purpose is a life without a destination

because the greatest joy that we can have comes from striving towards a specific aim. Before I

end with my speech, remember, in life, a man with a goal will have a colourful future but a man

without ambition will be like a bird flying without a direction.


METHODOLOGY

This section presents the research design, the research locale, and

the manner of selecting the research respondents, the data gathering

procedure, and the framework in examining the data.

Research Design

This study used the Survey Research Design. Survey is a systematic

method of gathering data from a selected group of individuals. It tends to be

qualitative in nature and aims to collect information, usually through the use

of questionnaires. The purpose of this survey is to collect the students’

perception on death penalty using the questionnaire as a way to gauge their

preference and opinions about it.

Research Locale

This study was conducted in Manolo Fortich National High School

located in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. This school is one of the educational

institutions that instils discipline and equips the students with skills and

competencies that enhance their reasoning and mentality. The said school also

provides complete basic education where students learn in child-friendly, eco-

friendly and motivating environment.

Selection of Respondents

The respondents of the study will be the HUMSS Senior High School

students of Manolo Fortich National High School who are enrolled in the first

semester of the academic year 2019-2020. In total, data will be collected from

20 respondents and since there is too much HUMSS senior high school student

being accommodated, there will be a selection of 5 student participants in each

classroom specifically from HUMSS 11 A, HUMSS 11 B, HUMSS 12 A and

HUMSS 12 B. The researchers chose the HUMSS senior high school students
as the respondents of this study because they are assumed to be more incline

and knowledgeable in government, politics and law.

Data Gathering Tools

The set of questionnaires were self-made by the researchers that has

consulted the approval of the teacher before it were distributed. The research

survey questionnaire is composed of 10 items question that probed the

perspectives of the HUMSS senior high school students of Manolo Fortich

National High School about death penalty.

Treatment of the data

The answer of the respondents in the questionnaire for each group of

students were tallied and examined by getting the percentage of each result.

This survey determines and examines the opinions of the students about death

penalty while observing the respondents sincerity on answering the following

questions that were given.
