Sex refers to a set of biological attributes in humans and animals. It is primarily associated with
physical and physiological features including chromosomes, gene expression, hormone levels and
function, and reproductive/sexual anatomy. Sex is usually categorized as female or male but there is
variation in the biological attributes that comprise sex and how those attributes are expressed.

6. What is LGBT

LGBT is shorthand for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. The “LGB” in this term refers to sexual
orientation. Sexual orientation is defined as an often enduring pattern of emotional, romantic and/or
sexual attractions of men to women or women to men (heterosexual), of women to women or men to
men (homosexual), or by men or women to both sexes (bisexual). It also refers to an individual’s sense
of personal and social identity based on those attractions, related behaviors and membership in a
community of others who share those attractions and behaviors. Some people who have same-sex
attractions or relationships may identify as “queer,” or, for a range of personal, social or political
reasons, may choose not to self-identify with these or any labels.

The "T" in LGBT stands for transgender or gender non-conforming, and is an umbrella term for people
whose gender identity or gender expression does not conform to that typically associated with the sex
to which they were assigned at birth.

Problem Statement:
1. Problem That Occurs to LGBT
-The different lived experiences of LGBT people regarding Discrimination
2. Research Gap
-Growth of the Discrimination that LGBT experiences using two generation or age gaps

Previous Researches were able to study the different discriminatory experiences of LGBT people using age
gaps such as Adolescents and Adult. They were also been able to discuss the different effects of Discrimination
to the lives of every LGBT. Previous Researches were also able to discuss the ways on how to cope with it and
some quantitative data that will support the Discrimination that LGBT experiences. What the researchers will
be doing is explore their experiences and determine if there is significant growth or decrease of discriminatory
experiences using 2 age gaps. Researchers will also determine if the going out of LGBT people at a certain
generation is much easier than other generation.

Purpose Statement: The main purpose of the study is to explore different discriminatory experiences of every
LGBT persons for every age group and to observe if the discrimination is getting worst for every age group.
Other specific purposes of discrimination is to see how these discriminatory experiences changes their lives
even though some researches already answered that kind of problem. Other specific purpose is to determine
if it is easier to come out on Generation Z or Millennial Generation.

Research Questions:
The Research Questions are:
1. How do discriminatory experiences differ for every age group
2. What are the factors why is it easier to come out as LGBT nowadays?
3. How these discriminatory experiences do affected your well-being?
4. How these discriminatory experiences affected your roles in the society?
5. How does family acceptance in the present differ from the previous generations?

Scope and Limitation:


Scope Limitation
 Millennial For Millennial and Generation Z, the researcher will

Significance of the Study:
1. Help the LGBT families
-This will help the families with LGBT members because they will be able to understand deeply the
hardships thht for that their LGBT relatives experiences.
2. Help the LGBT Community
-It will help them to gain more to be able to surpass all challenges that they might experience.
3. Literature
It will help researchers soon if they will study something that is connected and needs definition to
these words.
4. Law Makers
-It will help them to create suitable laws that will fit in protecting the rights of every LGBT people.
