Subject- ¬Requesting funds for the 3rd Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot

Date- 24 December, 2018

Respected Sir,

I am proud to state on behalf of our team, (comprising Shriji Pandey, Saurabh Tiwari, Kanay
Pisal [Batch of 2021] and Anmol Adhrit [Batch of 2022]) that we have cleared the global
memorial knockout rounds of the 3rd edition of ‘The Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law
Moot 2019’.
The said moot is an extremely prestigious moot of an international stature and witnesses
participation from across world. Out of all the participating teams from different countries, the
best 8 teams are invited to participate in the oral rounds of the moot. It is a matter of pride for
me to state that the team from RMLNLU represented by us, has stood among the top 8 teams of
the world (based upon the memorial knockout rounds) and has been invited to represent the
University at the oral rounds to be held at Singapore between 29th to 31st March, 2019.
Sir, in order to participate in the final rounds and to represent the university among other
prestigious universities of the world, we are in urgent need of funds. The team shall be requiring
a total of about Rs 3.20 – 3.25 Lakh and the breakdown of the same is as follows (for 4
members):
1) Registration fees - Rs 46,000 (converted from 500 GBP )
2) Tickets (to and fro between Lucknow and Singapore) - Rs 1,40,000 (35,000 * 4)
3) Accommodation - Rs 82,500 (2 Rooms @150-170 SGD/night for 5 days)
4) Meals - Rs 20,000-25,000
5) Commutation - Rs 23,518- 26152 (90-100 SGD/day * 5)
6) Visa- Rs 7464 ((30 SGD + Rs 30) *4)
Out of this amount, we are also required to deposit the registration amount of Rs 46000 (INR)
(500 Pound) to the organizers latest by 5th Jan 2019.
Sir, up till now, the college normally used to reimburse the expenses incurred by the college
team in participating and representing the university. However, because of the present moot not
being among list of moots that the Moot Court Committee had anticipated participation in, the
MCC finds it difficult to reimburse the said moot.
However, Sir, we would like to bring to your kind notice that out of the moots that MCC had
anticipated participation in, at least two moots namely the Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court
Competition and the Stetson’s International Environmental Moot Court Competition, have not
witnessed any participation from our college. Owing to the same, the Moot Court Committee
shall have with itself the funds that it had estimated for and kept aside for these moots.
Keeping the same in mind, it would be extremely helpful if the said funds can be allotted to our
team representing the university at The Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot 2019’.
The same if done, shall be immensely helpful for the team to register itself for the oral rounds
and to meet the basic expenses on travel, food, and lodging during the competition. Upon not
receiving the financial support from the university, the team shall not be able to register for or
participate in the oral rounds even after qualifying for the same.

Seeking your blessings and support for the academic endeavor.

Thanking you.
Yours sincerely,
Team RMLNLU (for The Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot 2019)
