Outline/Script for Screencast: Pinterest

Step Action on Screen
1 Insert a title slide during audio, and then
transition to recording
2 Click on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
Type in www.pinterest.com.
3 Point the computer mouse to the welcome sign.
Then move the mouse to the email box as I tell
them about entering their email. Last point the
mouse to the create password box while I explain
creating a password.
4 Create new Pinterest account with the viewers
5 Point to questions and answer them for the fake
Pinterest
6 Click the arrow beside the drop down menu to
choose a language and country.
7 Click 5 topics that are important to me or that
interest me in a school setting.
8 Point to the save or accept button
Point to the Skip button
Narration
Hey, this is a tutorial on how
to create a Pinterest account
and begin saving ideas to
boards.
First we will begin by going
to the internet and typing in
www.pinterest.com or by
going to the Pinterest app if
you are on a tablet or iPad.
The home screen for Pinterest
should have a welcome to
Pinterest sign and a place to
type your email and
password. This is where you
will first type in the email
that you would like to
connect with your Pinterest
account. Then you will click
on the create password box
and create a password that
you would like to use.
This is just a fake Pinterest
that I am making for this
video only.
There will be a few questions
that pop up that you will need
to answer. The first question
is how would you describe
yourself.
The next question is language
and location?
Next it gives you many topics
that are popular on Pinterest
and asks you to pick 5 that
interest you. Since I will be
using this Pinterest for school
use I will keep this in mind
while choosing these topics.
The last step of set up is
choosing whether or not you
want the handy browser
 Click Accept to show what it looks like to get the
handy browser button.
Click the Pinterest P to show what will pop up
when using the handy browser button.
9 Show the many ideas that pop up from the
interests that you chose
10 Find a topic/idea that interests you
Place the mouse over the picture so that the red
save button appears.
Click Save
11 Point to the Create Board sign
Show a previous board if one is available
Point to the Name Your Board box
12 Point to the red Create button
Click the red Create button
13 Pinterest Screen
button. Accepting this button
put a Pinterest P beside your
search bar at the top of your
internet screen. This is for
when you are on any website
and find something that you
want to save on Pinterest.
You can just click that
Pinterest P button and choose
your picture to save.
Now we are ready to begin
creating boards and saving
great ideas!
If you find an idea or
something that you like and
would like to save to come
back to later you can pin it to
a board. For example, If you
like “example” and want to
come back to it at another
time simply put your mouse
over the picture and a red
save button will pop up. Click
the red save button like this.
When you click the red save
button Create Board will pop
up. You can either choose a
board that you have already
created or create a new board
for the new topic or idea. To
create a new board just click
in the Name Your Board box
and type what you want to
name your board.
Click the red Create button to
save the pin to your new
board.
