Efforts on to include Rameswaram temple in UNESCO list

RAMESWARAM (TN): The Centre is taking steps to ensure that the famous Rameswaram
temple and Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam are included in UNESCO's list of
Heritage sites, Union Social Justice Minister Kumari Selja said here today.

"Efforts are continuing on to bring the famous Rameswaram temple and

Ranganathaswamy temple in UNESCO's list of heritage sites and the process will take
four or five years," she said.
