COURSE DESCRIPTION
This learning area is designed to provide a general background for the understanding of Earth on a planetary scale. It
presents the history of Earth through geologic time. It discusses the Earth’s structure, composition, the processes that
occur beneath and on the Earth’s surface, as well as issues, concerns and problems pertaining to Earth’s resources.

COURSE INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES


After completing this course, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO
1. Acquire general background for the understanding of Earth on a planetary scale.
2. Present the history of Earth through geologic time scale.
3. Identify Earth’s structure, composition, the processes that occur beneath and on the Earth’s surface;
4. Have awareness regarding issues, concerns and problems pertaining to Earth’s resources.
