BB ROLL: (Compilation of videos dealing with physics Voice Over: Physics has been tagged as the science of
that are found in nature) everyday living. You may not be aware of it but physics
is all around us.

SCENE 1: Sa may Chinese Temple (nakaupo lang sa

hallway sina Arhlie, Robert, Raquel). May mga dalang
bag.
Raquel: I am Raquel and together with my classmate.
We will be finding out where can we find Physics in our
everyday life.

Robert: Before we start. Do you know what physics is?

Physics deals with the interaction of matter, force, and
energy. Speaking of motion, force, work, and energy.
These all deals with the branch of classical physics
referred to as mechanics.

Raquel: Let’s start our little adventure. So are you guys

ready? (May magpo-pop up na thumb sa camera
signaling okay para interactive ‘yung video)

Video: (Naglalakad) Kunwari naghahanap o may

hinahanap).

SCENE 2: Biglang babatuhin Raquel mula sa malayo ng

paper ball. (Dito na papasok yung projectile motion)

Robert: Are you okay Raquel?

Raquel: I am okay. It’s just a paper ball. (kukuhanin ang

bola at itatapon sa basurahan). Oh, this smells awful

Yung basurahan may nakalagay na projectile motion na

(slow motion ng pagbato). Voice Over: Motion in real life is not limited to one
dimension. It can be described and analyzed in two or
three dimensions. A very common example of two-
dimensional motion is projectile motion.
Arhlie: A projectile is an object that is thrown
horizontally or at some angle with respect to the
horizontal. In this case, the paper is the projectile.
Projectile motion is a combination of uniform horizontal
motion and free fall. It also exhibits time and speed
symmetries along its vertical component.

Raquel: Arhlie, do you have alcohol?

(Slow motion ng pagbato ng alcohol)
Arhlie: Yes. Catch this!

Voice Over: The curved path of the alcohol is called the

trajectory. When the alcohol was thrown, the alcohol
rises to some maximum height and then descends. This
horizontal displacement is called the range. The
horizontal distance travelled by the alcohol between the
launching position and the landing position is the
magnitude of the range.

Robert: Did you know that we encounter projectile

motion in playing basketball? When jumping for the ball,
leaping for a slum dunk, or aiming for a three-point shot,
the player applies, whether consciously or unconsciously,
the principles of projectile motion. This sport was
invented by Dr. James Naismith.
SCENE 3: Chinese Temple

Arhlie: Oh, it’s already 9:50. We still have our class on

Physics.

Raquel: Let’s go
Timelapse (Nagmamadaling maglakad). Nasa RSTC na.
Babasahin ang Institute of Mathematics and Physics

Raquel: Institute of Mathematics and Physics. Robert, do

you know any mathematician or physicist?

Robert: I remember Isaac Newton. He was credited for

the formulation of the three laws of motion. Newton’s
laws of motion describe how force influences the motion
of an object. Newton’s first, second, and the third laws of
motion are also called the law of inertia, the law of
acceleration, and the law of interaction respectively.

(Close up ng mga bagay na hindi nagmo-move) Ex. Arhlie: The year 1666 was considered Isaac Newton's
School supplies (panning shot) “Annus Mirabilis”, a latin phrase that means miraculous
year, for that year he made important inventions and
pioneering works in motion, gr
Pioneering works in motion, gravitation, optics, and
calculus. His three laws of motion provided the
foundation of classical mechanics.

Panning shot: bag, panyo, pencil case Arhlie: This bag is not moving. The handkerchief stays on
the table. The pencil case remains at rest. What is similar

they are stable and not moving. Even smaller things do
not want to change its position. The laziness of an object
is called inertia. It is also referred as the property of a
body that tends to resist changes. If an object does not
change its position. It is said to be at rest. If a body
changes its position it is known as motion.

Miana: This is explained in the Newton’s first law of

motion. The law of inertia which is concerned with the
natural tendency of objects to keep their states, whether
Miana papagulungin ang bote. at rest or moving. This bottle will stay in place unless
force is applied. So how do object moves? (magtatanong
sa camera) Force must be applied in order for an object
to change its position.

I am going to apply a force in order to roll the bottle. (i-

roroll yung bote)

Ellyz: An object in motion will remain in motion (ii-stop

yung pag roll nng bote) unless acted upon by an
unbalanced external force. The bottle stops not because
it wants to stop. It stops moving because things on its
path causes it to stop. Like when I use my hand to stop
the rolling of the bottle.

Arhlie: Mass is the measure of inertia. The greater the

mass, the greater the inertia. The greater the inertia, the
harder it is to change the state of motion of a body. This
is why, heavier objects require greater force to move.
Robert: Did you know that Newton’s law of inertia as
well as Republict Act 8750 (otherwise known as the Seat
Belt Use Act of 1999) are the two reasons why we should
use seatbelts. If the car collides with a hard object, the
net force acting on the car causes it to stop. The
passenger will continue to move at this velocity unless a
force stops him. This force is provided by the seat belt.
That’s why always fasten your seatbelts.

SCENE 4: RSTC Raquel: I am hungry. Do you have any food?

(panning shot or close up shot sa cracker at water) Aileen: Here, I have a cracker and water. (I-gaglide sa
table. Una, yung cracker susunod yung tubig)

Raquel: Oh , But why do the crackers accelerated faster

than the water?

Arhlie: That’s a nice question. The cracker which is lesser

in mass accelerated faster than the tumbler containing
water. This deals with the second law of motion which is
the law of acceleration This states that the magnitude of
acceleration is inversely proportional to its mass given
that the same force is applied to two different objects.
Mass is the amount of matter it contains. It is a scalar
quantity. The SI unit for mass is kilograms. The greater
the mass of a body, the lesser the acceleration. The
lesser the mass, the greater the acceleration.

Video ng tumbler Aileen: (kukuhanin ‘uli yung tumbler tapos igaglide sa

table ng mas may pwersa) Now, I am going to push the
tumbler one more time but with greater force. Let’s see
what will happen.

Arhlie: In the Law of Acceleration, force is obtained by

multiplying the mass of an object with its acceleration. If
the object has a greater mass, we need more force to
move it. If we apply a little force, it will move a little
distance. When the tumbler is pushed with greater
force, it will move a greater distance. Hence, force is
directly proportional to acceleration
SCENE 5: Naglalakad papuntang Main Gate Ellyz: Walking is good for the body. You carry your own
weight when you walk. This is known as weight-bearing
exercise. But did you know that when we are walking, we
are also dealing with the Third law of motion?

Arhlie: That’s right. The law of Interaction states that for

every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. we
can walk because we push backward upon Earth as hard
as Earth pushes us forward. The weight of a body on
Earth is the measure of the force of gravity exerted by
Earth on it. It is a vector quantity and is always directed
toward the center of the Earth. The unit of weight is
kg.m/s2 which is equivalent to 1 Newton.

(close up ng paglalakad) with arrows Voice over: If I weigh 50 N, it means that the Earth is
pulling me downward by a force of 50 N which is the
action force. IN turn, I am pulling Earth up by a force of
50 N known as reaction force. This pair of forces is called
the action-reaction pair. Action and reaction forces are
equal in magnitude but opposite in directions.

Raquel: Did you know that rocket propulsion is governed

by the Newton’s third law of motion. The action force is
the force generated by the exhaust gas pulling the rocket
downwards. The reaction force is the thrust that propels
the rocket at high velocity which pulls the rocket
upwards making the rocket moves.

All: We hope that you have learned something from us

about the projectile motion and Newton’s three laws of
motion. Share your knowledge and teach others what
you have learned so it can be stored in your long-term
memory.

All: Thank you for watching. Bye!
