1. Overview
VoiceText Editor 4 is a text-to-speech solution engineered to help users tailor the text
contents and turn them into a vocally produced-synthesized speech. It is armed with full
of tools to make it easy and simple to do the synthesizing process and sound out the texts
into a variety of synthesized voices.

The product also offers a set of menu selections to utilize the Speech Synthesis Markup
Language (SSML), standard for speech synthesis, making it easy for users to tweak the
contents in their favorable way possible. Other features to insert audio clip or merge it with
other contents and the likes are part of the solution so, even a few selections are enough to
create various works.

Further, ReadSpeaker-owned voice engines can be loaded up and dynamically synced to


the solution for use in speech synthesis.

2. Screen Layout and Menu
2.1. Full Screen Layout

1 Manu bar Include ‘Home’ button, quick access menu and ribbon bar and offers features to edit
and synthesize and others for users
2 Text window Where a text appears either by keyboard or through the menu selections
3 Status bar Where information for users is displayed, including reading progress, encoding, the
number of characters and etc.

2.2. Home Button

4 Save As… Save a currently opened file under a different name
5 Export to Audio Save a currently opened file into an audio file

2.4. Home Menu
Includes a menu to select installed TTS engines and control features in synthesizing a text and
offers general features: user dictionary, license verification and etc.

2.4.1. Voice Controls

1 Read Read a text on the window from the beginning in a selected voice
2 From Start Read from the beginning in a selected voice
3 From Cursor Read from a position where the cursor sits in a selected voice
4 Pause/Resume Pause once clicked while the text being read (‘Pause’ changed to ‘Resume’ if clicked)
Read again from a paused position if ‘Resume’ clicked
5 Stop Stop reading
6 Voice Name Select a voice for synthesis or audio file conversion
7 SSML Tick to apply SSML tags
8 Highlight Tick to highlight words and sentences: the words and sentences being read are
highlighted in color, making it easy to read along as you listen.
* It may be possible for the highlighting function to get out of sync when rSpeak
engine’s user dictionary (‘User Dic’ on menu) is in use.

Displays information about what goes on the window

3 Total Line/ length Display the total number of lines and full length
