1 Area weightage provided in the respective PW, P & I, WTD Circle Schedules of Rates for
2018-19 shall be applicable to the Schedule of Rates of the Board for the year 2018-19,
excluding cost of Cement, Steel, all category of Pipes & Specials, Valves, Manhole frames &
covers and foot steps.
2 The rates of Cement and Steel considered for preparation of Board SR for 2018-19 is
Rs.4,879/- per MT (Rs.243.95/bag ) and Rs.45,616/- per MT respectively. However cost of
Cement and Steel as notified by the respective PW, P & I, WTD circles from time to time shall
be considered for the preparation of estimates and for Evaluation of Tenders.
3 Basic cost of M.S Pipes considered as Rs. 47,000/- per MT excluding transportation.
4 For labour payment, rates of respective PW, P & I, WTD Circle SR for 2018-19 shall be
followed.
5 The rates for finished item of works indicated in the Schedule of rates are inclusive of all lead,
lift, loading and unloading charges irrespective of mode / type of lead involved. Extra lead,
lift, loading and unloading charges shall not be admissible.
6 The items for which there is no specific rate in the Board S.R, the prevailing S.R of
respective BWSSB/PWD/PRE/Water Resource Department (Minor Irrigation) Circle shall be
adopted.
7 Cost of pipes, valves and other materials considered for arriving the rates for Board SR 2018-
19 are the bare rates. (Excluding GST, but inclusive of all other charges & FOR in Karnataka).
8 GST @ 12% shall be added separately in the estimate as per Govt. Letter No. PWD 65 RDF
2017, dated:11.10.2018.
9 All the pipes, valves and specials shall conform to relevant BIS specification.
10 For all repair works of water supply and UGD pipeline, 50% over the normal rates are
applicable excluding cost of all materials noted in Sl No. (1) above.
11 In the tender notification, a separate clause mentioning "GST shall be paid to the tendered
amount separately" is to be published.
12 The increase in GST shall not be paid in the extended period of contract for which the
contractor alone is responsible for delay as determined by the authority while granting the
extension of time.
13 New Items / innovative items introduced in the Schedule of Rates - 2018-19 shall be operated
on pilot basis only after the approval of Chief Engineer. After successful completion &
commissioning, can be used for projects on regular basis.
14 For Electrical works the prevailing PW, P & I, WTD (Electrical) Schedule of Rates of
respective circles or ESCOM/ KPTCL Schedule of Rates shall be adopted.
15 If the rates for certain items of works are not found in this SR, then such items shall be
obtained from SR of PW,P & IWTD / Minor Irrigation / BWSSB / RDPR / RWS / National
Highway.
16 Royalty charges for materials supplied / used by the Contractors from the Government land
and quarries shall be recovered as per the latest Government order.
17 The natural / river sand to be used shall be clean, sieved and of good quality. As far as
possible natural / river sand shall be used. Whenever there is scarcity of natural / river sand,
manufactured sand / crushed sand can be used to a maximum extent of 50% of toal sand
quantity for plastering items and 100% for concrete items. The certification by the concerned
Executive Engineer is mandatory for usage of artificial / manufactured sand.
18 The use of filtered sand is totally banned in all items of civil works.

boning rods at every 100 mm whevere necessary as directed, removal of slumps
and other deleterious matter, dressing of sides and levelling the bottom of
trench to the extent required , utilising the available excavated earth locally for
the work etc., complete in the following strata. (Depth upto 3m)
c) Hard rock - Any rock or cement concrete or RCC, excavation of which Cum 1,015.00

vii.3 Earth work in excavation for pipeline trenches beyond 600 mm and upto
1500 mm trench width as per drawing and technical specification, including
setting out, construction of shoring, strutting, barricading, danger lighting,

directed, removal of slumps and other deleterious matter, dressing of sides and
levelling the bottom of trench to the extent required , utilising the available

4 For all items coming under pipe laying and jointing works either for Water
Supply or for U.G.D. works in dewatering situation, 50% excess over the
rates allowed for pipe laying and jointing is applicable.
5 The measurement of earth work for pipe trenches shall be confined only to
the excavation done below the classification of the road crest.
7 Excavation for water supply pipe line trenches will be governed by the
following condition. In case of S & S, tyton or other types of pipes
wherever required for lead joints, mechanical Joints with rubber gasket or
any other type of moulded joints etc., extra payment will be made for
caulking pits or collar pits at the same rate for excavation of pipe trenches.
The condition is also applicable for pipelines laid for U.G.D. works.
12 When the overnight recuperation exceeds one Metre depth, a rate analysis
may be worked out based on actual observations and got approved by C.E.
15 For trial pit excavation 50% extra over normal rates is applicable.
16 If excavation is done in slushy soil add 50% extra over normal rates.

11 Supply and delivery of Resilient seated soft sealing Sluice Valves with body, bonnet of Ductile Iro
GGG50, wedge fully rubber lined with EPDM and seals of NBR and the valves should be of vacuum tigh
leak proof with face dimensions as per BS 5163-89/ IS 14846-2000 / DIN 3202 F4/F5. The stem sealing

articulated with the body. The surface box shall be coated with bitumen

Protection tube of PVC, Top and Bottom cover / Bottom Connector shall
be made by PVC, Bolt shall be made by Zinc coated steel 8.8 Split pin
shall be made by Electro galvanized, this set up should help have a
buried application of Gate Valves.

58 Supply and fixing of HDPE water meter box to protect the water meter
of Class ‘B’ Multijet type of size 15 to 32 mm including HDPE box with
base dia 300mm x lid dia 200mm x height 250mm with openable lid and

work excavation for 600mm x 600mm and base sand filling for 100mm
thick over which the cover is placed and enclosed by PCC 1:3:6 using

59 Supply and fixing of Horizontal Mechanical Woltman type hermetically sealed water meters with co
register with IP 68 protection. The meter shall be removable mechanism type manufactured as ISO 40
with MID certification. The meters shall be capable of transmitting consumption data on daily basis to ce
through GSM/GPRS. The meter interface unit shall be fitted to the meter without wire. The consumptio
be collected , stored and analysed by data logger. The data logger should provide data like flow rate,
consumption analyses, reverse flow, meter tampering, daily flow distribution, leakage detection. The
shall also send alarms on blocked meter, flow rate above limit, pressure below or above limits.

solid single wall 100mm or greater thickness construction made of 100% virgin PE material with

200mm depth. The inlet pipes to be connected with elastomer seal for a flexible connection of p

mtr. is applicable at Rs. 92.00/- cum where the floor height is above 3.5 mtr. for
Superstructure of pump house / GLSR / Jackwell cum pump house, Roof slab etc., for
heights above 7.0 mtr. or Part thereoff, Rs. 92.00/- cum is applicable at 3.0 mtr. stages.
Note:
1) The above lift charges are not applicable for providing doors, windowns and ventilators.
2) For pumphouse and GLSR, the height shall be measured from the floor of the
pumphouse/ GLSR , for considering the lift charges.
3) For jackwell cum pumphouse, the height shall be measured from the ground level for
considering the lift charges.
4) For GLSR with R.C.C steining , the lift charges shall be considered beyon 6 m . Only ,
as the rate in the S.R. is inclusive of lift charges upto 6 m.
5) No additional lift charges as per the respective PW,P & IWTD SR's, is admissible for
either laying of concrete or construction of masonry, as the same is included in the above
lift charges.
