DETAILED ITINERARY
ADDIS ABABA
Day 1 ‐ Arrive in Addis Ababa. Transfer to Saro‐Maria Hotel, an attractive four star hotel in the
center of Addis.

GONDAR
Day 2 ‐ Early Morning fly Gondar ‐ Gondar was the first capital city of the Ethiopian empire,
which began in 1632 with the reign of King Fasilledes. In Gondar there are dozens of castles built
by various emperors over the course of 236 years.
Gondar visit includes the palaces, residences and open air baths of King Fasilledes; (World
Heritage Site by UNESCO), the monasteries of Qusquom, the church of Debre Berhan Sellassie
(Light of the Trinity) with its 16th century paintings and frescoes, which is located at the summit
of a hill and surrounded by fortified walls.

SANKABER
Day 3 ‐ Drive to the Semien Mountains National Park via Debark the gateway to the park and
continue driving to reach to Sankaber 3230masl through a beautiful scenery and Ahmara people
and villages. The Semien Mountains National Park is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and we
will visit its exceptional natural beauty which includes superb scenery, endemic fauna and flora.
Among other endemics it is here that the Gelada Baboon (bleeding heart Baboon) is found.

GEECH

Day ‐ Morning, trek to Geech (full day). At many points on the way, you will discover the
endemic Gelada Baboon and various fauna and flora.

CHENEK

Day ‐ Morning, mount Imetgo and Kedadit (Peak Mountains) and proceed to Chenek. On this
day, you will appreciate the extremely fabulous Simien Mountains landscape, Gelada Baboon
and a big chance for the Walia Ibex at Chenek.

AMBIKO

Day 6‐ Morning, explore Chenek area to see Walia ibex in groups. Here, you may see Ibex and
Gelada Baboons heating the morning sun together. After Breakfast, trek from Chennek to
Ambiko via Buayt (Peak Mountain)

RAS DASHEN

Day 7 ‐ Morning, Climb Ras Dashen from Ambiko (estimated 4620 meters). At the top of this
mountain, you will indeed feel the climax experience and mountain breathing satisfaction
amongst peaks in the Simien chained mountains. Descend down to Ambiko for dinner and
overnight

Day 8 ‐ Morning, trek from Ambiko to Chenek. Meet the car in Cheneck and drive to Debark for

ADDIS ‐DEPARTURE
