ACERINOX is known worldwide as the one of the most competitive group in the world in stainless steel
manufacturing. From its constitution, it has carried out a continuous program of investments, with
development of own technological innovations that, in some cases, has constituted a true landmark in
the technology of stainless steel.
In production capacity, ACERINOX is the first world producer, with a melting output of 3.5 million Mt. It
is formed by three flat products fully integrated production sites: Acerinox Europa, the Factory of El
Campo de Gibraltar (Spain, established in 1970), the first one in producing more than one million tons
per year (2001), North American Stainless, N.A.S. (Kentucky, USA, established in 1990), also fully
integrated since February 2002, and finally Columbus Stainless (Middelburg, South Africa) that became
part of the ACERINOX in the year 2002.
In February 2008 ACERINOX decided to carry out the new project in Malaysia. This decision taken after a
thorough feasibility study, which included different alternatives, resulted in the construction of an
integrated production plant in Johor Bahru, next to Singapore.
The project in its last stage will be a stainless steel integrated plant with 1 million Mt melting capacity
and 600,000 Mt cold rolling capacity. Phase I is in operation since January 2012 and Phase II will start in
the first quarter of 2013.
In long products, Roldan, S.A. (Ponferrada, Spain), the very modern long products factory of N.A.S.
(Kentucky, USA), inaugurated in 2002, and Inoxfil, S.A. (Igualada, Spain), are also leading international
companies in terms of competitiveness of their production structure.
With this excellent production structure, ACERINOX reaffirms its leadership in competitiveness, having
four of the most competitive factories in the world in four different continents.
Thanks to the extensive commercial network, with companies in 36 countries, ACERINOX achieves a
worldwide active presence, selling in more than 80 countries.

2.0 Introduction To Bahru Stainless
In February 2008 Acerinox, S.A. decided to carry out, by stages, the new project of Malaysia. This
decision, taken after a thorough feasibility study, which included other alternatives, results in the
construction of a production integrated plant in Johor Bahru. The land of 350 acres has direct access to
the sea.
On the 15th January 2009 a definite agreement with NISSHIN STEEL was signed, which structures its
stake in BAHRU STAINLESS project. NISSHIN STEEL will have a 30% stake, METAL ONE 3% and ACERINOX
67%.
On the 16th March 2009 the ceremony of the foundation stone laying of the factory was held. The first
stage of this project will reach a production capacity of 240,000 Mt/year, of which 180,000 Mt/year will
be cold rolling and will be composed of the following equipment:
- Annealing and pickling line for hot and cold rolled coils.
- Sendzimir cold rolling mill of 1,500 mm width.
- Skin Pass
- Finishing lines
On the 2nd December 2010 the first coil was processed in the finishing lines and cold
rolling mill.
The Board of Directors has approved the second investment phase. In this phase, which start up is
scheduled for the first quarter 2013, the production capacity will be increased to 400,000 Mt yearly.
Likewise, Bahru Stainless will get specialized in special grades, thin gauges and products with higher
added value. The equipment for this second phase have already been awarded.
This investment, for an amount of 310 million USD, includes a cold rolling mill (ZM2), a cold annealing
and pickling line (AP2), auxiliary lines, laboratory and an electric substation, which will feed in the future
the electric furnaces when they come into operation.
In its last stage, this project will be an integrated stainless steel factory with a melting capacity of 1
million Mt and a cold rolling capacity of 600,000 Mt. Bahru Stainless has already obtained the
environmental licenses for the integral production of stainless steel.

8.1 MOQ Policies
(1) For non-common grades minimum 200 ton of orders are required in a lot. (depending on
supplier of Hot Band Coil).
(2) More specifically for orders of common grades not inside the list of “common products” For
cold rolled, orders need to fulfill 80% of the mass of a standard mother coil. For hot rolled,
orders need to be product of standard mother coil.
(3) Polishing orders (NO4, HL, SB) considered as same lot as 2B order in condition the dimension
and tolerance is the same. Minimum order mass must be 10 tons for each grade.
(4) Any slit generation will be evaluated in terms of yield losses / price.
(5) For sheet orders, gauge below 6 mm the minimum mass for shearing is 2 tons. For gauge 6
mm until 10 mm the minimum mass is 4 tons and gauge above 10 mm the minimum mass is 6
tons. (Whether an order is considered ‘Common’ or ‘non-common’ is determined by how
repetitive the specific product is. Common grades can be refer to Common Product file which
will be update from time to time based on previous order)
