1.1.1 Rationale of the study

Lapu-lapu City is known for the wonderfully crafted guitars that are of high
quality and are world class which are known all over the different countries.

Ferangeli guitar Crafters is known for the creation of Hi-end guitars that are to
be exported from Lapu-lapu City to different locations of the world and that includes
(countries of the said exporting locations). (Current scenario)

(The problem) Ferangeli Guitar Crafters are having a problem in meeting the
deadline of the creation of the Hi-end Guitars to be ecported to different countries,
namely (unsa na mga countries).

(Success story)

Researchers keenly evaluate the existing operations of the creation of Hi-end

guitars of Ferangeli Guitar Crafters; this is to evaluate each process carefully and to list
different kinds of faults for the researchers to come up with firm proposals and
recommendation for the process improvement of Ferangeli Guitar Crafters. The
researchers will also ascertain if the existing crafting process of the Hi-end guitars is
profitable in the business’ terms. Critical observations, interviews and other Industrial
Engineering statistical tools will be conducted to obtain the desired outcome of the
study.

The purpose of this study is to improve the operations of Ferangeli Guitar

guitars that are exportable to other countries.

The Figure # shows the flow of the research process. In order for the researchers to
gather data, identify present problems in the operations or management and create possible
solutions and recommendations, the researchers must first identify the inputs that are needed
for the study. Information about the Ferangeli Guitar Crafters was gathered and analyzed.
Survey questioners were also used for the crafters and the management to answer, interviews
and keen observations were conducted also on the business operations and the people
involved. In the process, all the data gathered were analyzed and interpreted and evaluated and
for the output would be the formulation of the recommendations and proposals for the
improvement of the creation of the Hi-end guitars.
