 Pit preparation to installation of the Oil and Water Separator System
1. Prepare a pit with dimensions where the distance between
the side wall of the components and the pit walls being at least
0,30mts. To sizing the pit, please consult the Black Box of the
components.
2. The pit depth must be such that after the sand adition of 0,20
mts compressed hidraulically, the top cover of the box must be
in a distance from 0,30 m to 0,70 m of the fininshing to enable
the operation and maintenance. To adjust the pit depth, must
be considered a fall between the water channels and the inlet
box at least 2% over the distance between (L ), as per the
picture below.

Disposal of the OWS in the pit. It should not be

component tilt, only in the pipes. The effluent
treated in the OWS must be frequently monitored. It
is important forecast in the system installation an
effluent collect point in order to facilitate the
control.
 Filling the Pit / Installation

After the pit grounding preparation with a sand bed of 0,20 mts already compressed, please follow the steps:

To install the OWS first and after this repeate the

Step 1
Fill the OWS with clean water until the height of 0,3m.
Step 2
Make a layer of 0,2m of medium sand evenly distributed around the
box.
Step 3
Compact hydraulically the sand layer placed in the Step 2.
Step 4
Repeat Steps 1, 2 e 3 in sequence until get the level of inlet and
outlet fittings of the OWS.
Step 5
Install the pipes and after it finalize the process of the armhole filling
until the complete coverage of pipes.
After the last layer sand, to a better finishing, put a stone layer
type 1 around the cover until the level of access cover.

It is important to use proper material to fill the pit around the

OWS ZP 1000. The local soil must be discarted and not used

It is recommended the installation of the OWS ZP 1000 in place
of easy access to operation and maintenance near the exit for completely filled with sand.

 Installation / Manhole Covers

The OWS shall be installed under a manhole cover once this

equipment is not designed to support any kind of traffic.

If the height between the covers of the OWS and the manhole
covers exceeds the height of the manhole cover skirt, concoct in
the perimeter of the armhole, a wall masonry to close this space,
and the height of the brick will vary according to depth of the
OWS installation.

If the compression process is not followed, there is a risk of

cracking or colapse of the OWS.

It is not recommended the use of mechanical compaction tools

because of the risk of damage of the OWS.
