Hydrological Survey
Also called as Full Tank Level (FTL) or the Normal Pool Level
(NPL)
NCL is different from the FRL as the latter may includes a part
of the flood.
5. USEFUL STOREAGE
The volume of water stored between the Full reservoir Level
(FRL) and Minimum pool level (MPL)
6. DEAD STOREAGE
Volume of water held below the minimum pool level.
8. VALLEY STOREAGE
• Vegetal Cover.
• Intensity of Rainfall.
BED LOAD
There is no practical method for measurement of bed load
Bed load is usually 5 to 25 % of suspended load
An average valve of 15% is generally taken
Catchment area having soft or loose soil with steep slopes may
carry more sediment load.
Best way is first disturb the deposited silt and then pushes
toward sluices for removing
3. DEMAND CURVE
It is a plot between accumulated demand with time

HOMOGENEOUS EARTH DAM
• Composed of only one material
• Material either Semi-impervious or impervious
• Seepage through such dam is very high
• Construct when only one material is available
• Hydraulic Failure
• Seepage Failure
• Structural Failure
