VALUES CLARIFICATION ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

Values are a set of standards that determine attitudes, choices, and actions in all areas of life.
Mapping your value priorities can help create the groundwork for sound career decisions that fit
your unique combination of values, interests, and talents. Work-related values underlie the
choices we make about work. Some people value creative freedom most in the work they
choose; others place more importance on income, contributing something new to their field, or
other values.

Today’s employees are increasingly searching for more than just an income to pay the bills, they
are purposefully selecting employers at companies whose values and culture align with their
own. Similarly, the most effective organizations attract people who already share most of their
key values. Taking the time to introspectively explore your unique pattern of personal and work
values can help you focus effectively and choose work environments and positions that are the
best fit for you.
