Dear all, lucky to be part of this learning feast, my reflections are

What happened?

Wanted to be part of April ACME group but changing the parent institute deferred my decision.
Great responsibility and work load of establishing the new institute born with this MBBS batch only
further hampered my joining ACME. Persistence and convincing power of faculty at CMCL especially
Dr Dinesh made me get down at Ludhiana railway station in midnight at 1.30am after attending a
hectic National Conference at Mysure .Next day, I entered CMCL with a mind and body eclipsed
with fatigue, but it was never ever a moment of regret after that. Our great faculty took us to the
trip of ACME with lively and colourful stations like recap of BCW, Curriculum planning, Project
planning, Assessment methods, etc. During these brainstorming sessions I felt like a student who
needs to learn a lot. Curriculum planning session was an eye opener; Project planning made me
aware of my weaknesses and strengths. Learned new ways to understand and plan medical
education with the help of Evaluation matrix, Gantt chart, etc. At the end of second last day when no
homework was given, it created lots of apprehensions in everyone’s mind fearing what will happen
on the last day? but which turned out to be the best one. On the last day, meeting the senior batch
and going through their project posters made us realize that we can also accomplish the
unbelievable. My most apprehensive moment was presenting the project poster of Dr Sheshav,
fearing that I may not do any injustice to his hard work. Finally, left CMCL with a heavy heart, as we
have developed a special bonding with the group members, staff and the great faculty.

So what?

Friendship and comradeship build-up during the contact session under the wise and expert faculty
made me more passionate towards teaching. Most of our queries regarding, Curriculum planning,
framing LOs, TLM, Assessment methods were solved. This contact session have made me realize that
we need to teach students under same non-threatening environment as we were taught at CMCL.
Now, I have a better perception of CBA and plan to implement it in a phased and a systematic way.
ACME education has instilled in me a pride and satisfaction of being a teacher in medical education,
who can play a role in polishing and grooming the IMG.

What next?

After my induction in ACME, as a coordinator of MEU and CC I am in a better position to plan the
curriculum and time table of Phase 1 MBBS students and can also help the rest of the faculty in
planning the time table and curriculum of other phases and other subjects. I have already introduced
changes in my TLM and assessment methods. I have planned to deliver lecture and guide the faculty
of my institute about the CBME as most of our faculty is not trained in rBCW and CISP.
