Happy Holiday Season Mamas!

It’s such a wonderful season of family, fun and tradi- tions.

This issue features Altomontes Italian Market, where you can get everything you need this holiday season from meats, wine, desserts, catering for your holiday parties, and everything else you may need.

Mama will be at Altomontes on Dec14th for the

gingerbread making event

a gingerbread house with mama from 10 to 11am at

and fill it up with as many holiday themed events as I can squeeze in

Here I am pictured with my girls last year as we walked thru the Lehigh Valley Zoo Winter Light Spectacular. Although my kids are older, they still enjoy all the fun things we did when they were little, and we had so much fun that night. We bundled up, grabbed hot chocolate and enjoyed the beautiful lights.

Traditions are something your family will remember and cherish for years to come. Some other favorites of our family are visiting Shadybrook Farm light show, then making smores over the fire, getting together to make gingerbread houses, and finding a great tree farm, taking a drive out to the countryside, and cutting down our tree.

This holiday season, be sure to take a minute to take it all in, I know you will all be so busy, but make sure enjoy it as much as you can, try and slow down in some small way, and make time for new traditions and

memories.

Winter is approaching, and those of you with pet reptiles might notice a change in

Winter is approaching, and those of you with pet reptiles might notice a change in their behavior!

Many reptile species from temperate areas, such as Australia, the United States, Europe, and parts of Africa, will enter a state similar to hibernation called brumation during the winter months!

In the wild, this natural process will usually consist of the animal ceasing to eat, finding a burrow where the temperature is cool but not cold, and then lightly sleeping through the cool months.

Not all reptiles in captivity that brumate in the wild will want to every year, but may decide to on their own!

If your pet decides it wants to brumate, you will be able to tell by a drastically decreased diet, going to sleep earlier or more often, or sleeping in cooler areas.

You can assist your pet by first checking that it is healthy, and then by researching the conditions that they like to have during this time!

Not all reptiles brumate though, so make sure it is natural for your pet and take it to a veterinarian if it isn’t!

Hello fellow parents!

We are super excited to join your community! We thank everyone who has brought their family and friends to spend time at Urban Air Willow Grove. Here’s a little bit of information on us, the franchise owner/operators. We are the proud parents of three wonderful girls and we had a dream of launching a business that could really add enrichment to our family life, as well as to the lives of other parents. We both have corporate backgrounds in the sales arena (technology, pharmaceutical and medical). In the growing age of technology and electronics, we saw the opportunity to own and operate an Urban Air Adventure Park franchise as a great way to provide an alternative form of entertainment for families and businesses. At Urban Air Willow Grove, families and friends can gather to play, explore, socialize and find adventure together. Our tagline is “Activate Awesome” – our goal is ensure that everyone has a fun and safe time at the park and create lasting memories!

Ever wonder why your cookies are to thin, to thick, to brown or just dont look like you want. Mama has been baking a long time and wants to share a few tips so you can have perfect cookies everytime. Tip 1 - Use the “spoon and level” method:

Instead of dipping your measuring cup straight into the flour, fluff up the container of

flour first. Spoon the flour into the measuring cup, then scrape

off the excess with a straight edge.

Tip 3 - Use room temperature eggs and butter. I know, but it really makes a difference. Take your butter out ahead of time

and let it get soft on the counter

Don't let your hard work turn into stale, inedible rocks — store your cookies with an apple wedge or half a slice of bread. This will keep the air humid, and make sure they stay chewy.

Fun Holiday Craft

Gnomes

Fun Holiday Craft Gnomes I made these little gnomes and gave them as gifts last year

I made these little gnomes and gave them as gifts last year if I went to a house party or saw a friend over the holidays. They are so easy to make. Start with a white sock and cut the long piece off, fill with rice and use a tiny rubber band to secure the top, then shape a small nose in the middle using your fingers and another small rubber band. Then you can get cute colorful winter fuzzy socks at the dollor store and use the same color or mix and match the bodys and the hats. The furry beard was a piece of material you can get a craft store and cut out the triangle. Use the bottom of the sock for the body and put over the white rice filled bottom, and get a taller styrofoam cone and hot glue onto the top and then use the other piece of the sock to cover. I also used twine, and candy canes for more decor. The opportunites are endless! And it’s a fun craft to do with the kids too. Keep an eye out for a live video on our page and I will make one so you see every step on our Facebook page Dec 6th at 11am.

Reid’s Real Estate Review

While real estate is hyper-local and each area experiences its own ebbs and flows, a number of trends still affect the market as a whole. Throughout the third quarter of 2019, inventory challenges and declining mortgage rates certainly remained a common theme. If low mortgage rates have you thinking about buying or selling, continue reading to learn why the holiday season can be a great time to do so.

market, a home that’s in great shape and shows well will stand out, giving it a better opportunity to sell. In addition, the buyer quality will likely increase as buyers shopping in the off-season are often more ready, prepared and motivated.

Declining mortgage rates. Despite most industry predictions at the beginning of the year, mortgage rates have remained below 4%. Low rates mean more buying power for

consumers, allowing them to afford more home for their money. This also means that it could be a good time to consider refinancing. Those considering that route should speak with a mortgage consultant to determine if it’s the right choice.

Inventory shortages. The steady declines in housing inventory created an increase in real estate sales and pushed median sale prices higher in most real estate markets where Long & Foster operates. In addition, tight inventory conditions also led to a reduction in the number of days homes were on the market across the region.

• Buyers. There are typically fewer potential buyers during the holidays, decreasing the likelihood of a bidding war and giving you a better shot at winning your offer. Those selling in the winter are serious as well and may be more motivated to get the deal finished.

Benefits of buying and selling during the holidays. While spring and summer are considered the “peak seasons” for real estate, many buyers are still shopping this time of year. There are several advantages to keep in mind if you’re thinking about selling or buying this season – especially the benefit of less competition.

• Sellers. Remember that the value of your home is based on the market, not the season. With fewer homes on the

For advice on preparing your home to sell, I can provide you with a free custom market analysis of your home’s value, get your property ready for listing, and guide you throughout the entire selling transaction, no matter the time of year. Alternatively, if you’re planning to take advantage of the low interest rates and buy a home, I can also help you prepare so you’ll be ready to make a winning offer with the least amount of stress and for the best price.

Do you feel stressed around the holidays??! Between Halloween and New Year’s Day there is extra baking and shopping, parents and kids have extra holiday activities…the list goes on. Along with the holidays comes extra eating and drinking of sugar, sugar and more sugar! Did you know that the added stress and sugar suppress your immune system and making you more susceptible to getting sick??

Here are some tips to reduce stress and stay on track with good nutrition during the holidays so you can enjoy and stay healthy…

Tips for the Upcoming Holidays

treat everyday like a normal day and just indulge on the actual holiday

eat a healthy meal and drink lots of water before heading to a holiday party so when you get to the party you are not hungry

keep healthy snacks at your desk and avoid the break room where there may be sweet treats

don’t stand next to the food table during a holiday party

enjoy talking and connecting with family and friends you haven’t seen in awhile instead of eating

listen to your body-when you are full, stop eating

At holiday events, opt for…

veggies with hummus/guacamole instead of corn chips and ranch dip

handful of nuts instead of pretzels
