Miracles by Walt Whitman

The poem tells us about the miracle around him. He even describes the different ways to see how a
miracle happens on a daily basis. For example, he even tells us about the things that he notices while
walking on the road of Manhattan. He observes that a lot more things such as the feeling on the beach
when we are walking near the shore. Even the shade of a tree that is shielding us from the extreme heat
of the sun. In fact, the miracle is the ability to spend our time with the one we love.

The nights that we had while eating dinner with our family is also a miracle. He also added that all the
things that move and we enjoy is a miracle that we should consider. Miracles happen every day if only we
can take our time to look into it. Miracles can become in the form of stars; how wonderful it is to watch
the stars at night. A miracle is everywhere and we just need to take a while and rest from our worries.

This poem signifies that we should not spend our lives achieving things as if we are not created to feel
the joy and appreciate the other creations that God has given unto us. We should not just spend this God-
given opportunity in achieving so much that we tend to forget the main reason of our mortal existence.
Miracles are found by those who are paying attention to the wonders of this life despite all the distractions
and heartache. Miracles are countless each day. We will never know when will be the last time that we're
going to see those miracles given by our Creator.

The poem helps us to further understand and appreciate things and people around us. We may
sometimes pay less attention to those that really matter, but it is not too late we can still count each
miracle now that someone has reminded us. We are now grateful that we are able to see and value those
that don't catch our attention before. We can still enjoy this lifetime by counting our small miracles one
by one and see how much God has in store for us. Achieving great things can possibly happen if we take
our time and not rushing into things. And we can show how grateful we are to our God by being thankful
for those small but meaningful miracles he hath placed upon our paths each day.

At the end of the day, this poem is really something that makes us wonder. For all the times we spent
overlooking things and never admiring their importance. We now have the chance to change how we
perceive things and what to be thankful for each day. We are a lot more capable to see bigger and greater
miracles if only we can open our eyes to the simple things of this life. Seeing differently from the others
makes a big difference because you can now share what you have and help others find joy in simple yet
marvelous things that hath put along our paths.
