Lesson 3: Your Family

DIALOGUE
In this lesson, your tutor will help you go over this topic: Family. First, read the
following dialogue out loud with your tutor, then switch roles and try again.
Dorothy and Kevin are talking about their families.

Dorothy: Hi, Kevin! Do you have any siblings?

Kevin: Yes, I have an older sister and a younger brother. We’re a


family of five.

Dorothy: That must be so nice. I am an only child.

Kevin: So, your family only includes you, your father, and your mother?

Dorothy: My dog, Toro, is also part of my family. My parents and I love


him so much.
Kevin: That is great. How old is Toro?

Dorothy: He is the youngest of the family. He is only 5 years old. My


parents love to take care ofhim and watch him grow up.

Kevin: What do your parents do for a living?

Dorothy: My mother is an engineer and my father works as a lawyer.

Kevin: Wow, they must be very busy people!
