Write a 350- to 700-word summary of what you have learned about Organizational Behavior from your
current readings. Include the following in your summary:

 Explain the connection between organizational behavior and your selected job skills from the
matrix.
 Discuss how these job skills can lead to improved job performance.
 Explain how Organizational Behavior can aid you in decision-making and problem-solving.
 Predict the consequences of unethical behavior in the workplace.

Organizational behavior is a discipline used within the workplace to help manage employees in a
more ethical manner, by possessing the soft skills listed above the ability to manage employees will
come easier then if the skills are not utilized. As a manager or supervisor soft skills are more
essential to have then the hard skills required to preform the tasks of the job, having those soft skills
are what will even allow you to become a manager or supervisor. Althought it may seem that the soft
skills listed above come naturally to most if not all this is not the case, organizational behavior takes
practice and a lot of it. It may seem like common sense to listen actively to employees but most of
the time responses are predetermined and just allowing the employee to speak is all that is felt is
necessary. Inorder to actively listen to emplyoees responses must be for that particular situation and
not predetermined by past experiences or in other words using common sense to handle unique
situations. By possessing and utilizing the soft skills listed above along with numerous other soft
skills that a manager should posess the working environment will be much more fair and performace
of employees will be better. Situations will be on a more personal level with the soft skills being
utilized and the employees will not feel as if they are just numbers on a roster but people with a
name. When employees feel like they matter within a workplace they will perform their tasks in a
more professional that allows them to feel and become more of an asset to the company. This would

not be the case without proper organizational behavior that allows for proper decision making and
problem solving. If behavior is not organized properly solving problems within a work place can
become a difficult task resulting in disgruntaled emplyoees that have negative consequences
throughout the entire company. Lack of organizational behavior can result in unethical behavior
within the workplace, this can result in employees not doing the tasks assigned to them or doing the
tasks but in a fashion that can result in employees and/or customers being hurt or worse killed. Even
though it was the action of the employee(s) that can result in the harm, ultimetly it will be the
companies liability and the company will blame the manager/ supervisor overseeing the employee(s).
