The information below is what you will see when you first log in to your ST1 Online Application.
We have highlighted and marked items that are/are not applicable for UCEAP exchange students.
A number of questions will be asked in the form. We only ask questions that are necessary to process the application.
We will also inform you which documents you will need to attach to the application.

How to apply
1. Enter your case order ID.
2. Enter information about you as applicant.
3. Enter information about your current residence.
4. Enter information about your educational background.
5. Write your comments to the application, if any.
6. Attach documentation.
7. Enter information required to refund the fee. (Not applicable for UCEAP students)
8. Confirm sworn declaration.
9. Submit the application using NemID or a scanned signature.
Once you have submitted the application, you will be shown a receipt which you must print and bring when you go to
have your biometric features recorded.
You must bring your passport or equivalent travel documentation when you go to have your biometric features
recorded. In addition to your biometric features, your signature will also be recorded. The facial photo and fingerprints
are stored on a microchip embedded in the residence card issued to you if you are granted a residence permit.
Biometric features can be recorded in the Citizen Centre of the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and
Integration. If you live outside Greater Copenhagen, your biometric features can be recorded at local police stations. If
you live outside Denmark, your biometric features can be recorded at certain Danish diplomatic missions and
outsourcing bureaus. A list of places where you can have your biometric features recorded is available here.
If you do not agree to have your biometric features recorded in connection with the application being submitted, your
application will be rejected. However, if you are not physically capable of providing fingerprints, you will not be required
to do so.

If you are to be enrolled as a student in a basic or youth study programme, you must also attach the following
documents: Not applicable to UCEAP students.
• Documentation that you can support yourself during your stay in Denmark (attach only if your stay in Denmark is
not facilitated by an exchange organisation).
• Documentation that the exchange organisation will assist in facilitating your stay in Denmark (only if your stay is
facilitated by such an organisation).
If you are to study at a secondary educational programme and your stay has not been arranged by an exchange
organisation approved by the EU, you must attach either: Not applicable to UCEAP students.
• documentation that you have begun your secondary educational programme in your home country and that the
programme will be completed in Denmark. The documentation must be issued by your school in your home country.
It must specify when you began your secondary educational programme and when you are expected to complete it,
or
• documentation that you will continue your secondary educational programme in your home country. The
documentation must be issued by your school in your home country. It must specify that you are guaranteed a place
to continue and complete you secondary educational programme after your stay in Denmark.
Please note if you are below the age of 18, you must attach a declaration signed by both your parents. The
declaration must show that your parents accept your stay in Denmark. If you are not staying at a boarding school, your
parents must also state where and with whom you will be staying while in Denmark.
Specifically for students at folk high schools Not applicable to UCEAP students.
If you are to study at a folk high school, but not stay at the school, you must attach documentation that you can
support yourself during your stay in Denmark.
The fee is regulated annually on 1 January. Please make sure to create your Case Order ID and pay the fee in the same
calendar year that you submit your application. If you pay the fee one calendar year (before 1 January), but submit
your application the following calendar year (after 1 January), you will have paid too little.

Please note: If we decide that you are in fact not exempt from paying the fee, your application will be rejected, which
means that it will not be processed. However, if you have paid the fee and we decide that you are exempt from paying
the fee, the fee will be refunded to you.
