COMMUNITY SErVICE PROJECT
PROPOSAL
I am AJIT KUMAR SAH of class 12th-C of Tulips
International School. We have been given a project titled
as “S.E.W.A Community Service Project”. I started doing
this project on 15 June, 2019.

Aim:-
SEWA(Social Empowerment through Work Education
and Action) an endeavour by CBSE is a program that
aims to focus on the mental, emotional and social health
of a student. Sewa means an act of kindness without
expectation.

Objectives:-
The main objective of Sewa projects is to direct
children’s mind in constructive activities with positive
outcomes and critical thinking. This would help them to
develop self-confidence and self-esteem. Another
objective of this program is to underline the significance
of the interdependence of all human beings and our
dependence on the environment in this shrinking global
village. Students must acknowledge that they have a
responsibility towards the less privileged, the
disadvantaged, the CWSN (Divyang),the society, and
the environment. The principle of giving to society has to
Become second nature to them. It also teaches that you
earns(It could be anything money, respect etc.) from the
society, now it is your responsibility to return it back
what you have taken from the society.

Conclusion:-
To increase the likelihood that an ample array of
program opportunities will be available ,communities
should put in some place locally appropriate mechanism
for monitoring the availability, accessibility, and quality of
programs for youth in their community
SEWA COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
ESSAY
One of the simplest ways that I gain satisfaction from
my life is dedication my time to cause that I fell
passionate about one of them is Community Service
which offers number of opportunities to satisfy my
quench to do something for my society in my life.
The S.E.W.A project conducted by Central board of
secondary education is a best way to accomplish your
responsibilities towards your community. The aim of the
project is to create and develop a community of tertiary
students to be more responsible, be more sensitive, and
explore the different sections of our community, be
knowledgeable about the community and their needs.
In order to accomplish my goal of completing this
project, I visited Apna Ghar Ashram, Pooth Khurd, Near
main Bawana Road, Delhi-39. It is a non-profit
humanitarian organization which picks people from
roadside suffering from diseases, who are mentally ill
and also those people who don’t have family based on
the belief –to help make this society a better place for
underprivileged.
I started my project on 15th June, 2019 and completed
22 June, 2019. I spent 38hrs in the ashram in helping
the workers of ashram in their work and to know the
principles of their ashram, also to know the problems
that the prabhus (name given to all the people who are
ill) face .At First, I scheduled my time so that I can do
this project also now to compromise my time for my
studies which is very important as I am in 12th class.

The main problem faced by me was inability to get

transportation to reach the ashram from my house and
ashram to my house, so I asked my parents to take me
there, and they took out sometime from their schedule to
take me there.
The impact of this project on the community will be that
it nurtures a culture of respect and care towards all
members of the community among the fortunate
students and to plant a seed of dream into the hearts of
people in such organizations. It will also create some
responsibilities of students to help some backward
section of our society. The main focus of the project is to
examine how community empowerment brings about
organizational changes.
On the first day, I visited there and talked to the
supervisor ,telling about the project, he was very happy
to know that CBSE has started this project, He also feels
that it is mandatory to students to know how things are
done and what measures are taken to accomplish their
goal I then asked Him about how you bring these
disabled people here, he then told me that we have
search vans who cover an area of 250 kms and search
for roadside people. I then asked him about you take
care of them, he then told me that we have proper staff
to take care of them. I then asked about their
infrastructure, In return he told me that we have 21
wings ,having population of 341 “prabhus”, we have our
own infirmary, kitchen with large fridge, and a big
machine which cooks chapatti. Staff includes kitchen
team, cleaning team, search team, caretaker team. They
have set of medicines placed in a box with schedule
written over to give to “prabhus”.Then the manager of
ashram Ms.Nidhi Sharma gave a round of the ashram
showing every wing .one thing I liked about the ashram
is that they call the disabled people “prabhu” which don’t
give them a thought that they are different from the
society and they are not able to do some things that
everyone are able to do.
He then assigned me with the work schedule that is to
be done throughout the project. The activities are listed
below:
1. Cleaning work
2. Serve the food
3. Talk to them and know about their needs
4. Help the “prabhus” in eating the food who are not able
to eat the food by themselves.
During this project I learn many things there and
made some new friends too.
The community Service can teach us how to love
others and how to fulfill our heart with joy. I am
really thankful for this opportunity, if it was not
mandatory. I probably wouldn’t have done it for
sure and wouldn’t have been able to know how to
love others and how to serve others. Although the
project is completed but my inclination to serve
others has not faded. I will still continue to help
others in the community regardless of where I go.
This experience has helped me through cherish
my ability to influence and impact others positive
way and it helped me to look at community service
as a benefit for myself, instead of just another
obligation.
