An Offertory Prayer

Loving Creator, you have generously and graciously given us blessing

after blessing, gift after gift, kindness after kindness. Your steadfast
love and amazing grace abound in our lives. You are awesome, and we
are hum-bled and deeply grateful.

Now we give our tokens of love and appreciation to you. First, we

offer our grateful hearts, minds and souls. Receive our praise and
thanksgiving. We also offer the gifts of our labor, our monetary
offerings, and our pledge of talent, time and service.
Help us be dedicated servants for you in our daily lives so we may be more worthy of the life you
have given us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

WMU Mission Project November 2010
Baptist Global Response
In-Home Care Kits

The BGR In-Home Care Kit is a compilation of medical and hygiene supplies. Items in this kit will
make the care-givers’ tasks much easier, but more importantly, will ease the suffering of the ones
affected by HIV/AIDS. The WMU, along with your help, plan to put together a bucket(s) for BGR.

The bulletin board will have puzzle pieces with items listed that are needed for
a bucket of HELP. Pick a puzzle piece and purchase the item(s).

Please this is very important....NO

SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED.
Purchase exactly what is on the piece. The bucket items have been specifically picked
out for the care and use of the HIV/AIDS person and to fit into the bucket.

By putting together a kit, we will help provide a physical and spiritual touch to those in sub-Saharan
Africa who are dying from AIDS and other illnesses. Our local partners in Africa will distribute the
buckets in a way that gives dignity and hope to each family receiving a kit.

WLBC’s Goal of 6 Buckets/Kits

“Listen to my cry for help, for I am brought very low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are
too strong for me.” Psalm 147:7
Jericho Baptist Missionary Chapel
Annual Christmas Toy Drive 2010
Children are beginning to have visions of what will be
under the Christmas tree, but unfortunately for some, this
dream may not be a reality.
This year marks the 33 years that Jericho Outreach has been serving under-
served families by providing toys and clothing to children (Ages 1-16) during our
Annual Toy Drive.
We have set an aggressive goal to serving 1,000 children in the Central Virginia
area with concentration on the inner city. With the economy in a slump, it is no
surprise that we have already begun receiving calls from families requesting
assistance. We can only accomplish our goal with your help.

Excerpt from Dr. Charles Dunning’s Letter to Churches and Businesses.

Deadline for gifts is December 19th. The Jericho Toy Barrel is located in the preschool
wing.

LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING

WLBC’s Goal $20,000
2010 Week of Prayer, November 28 - December 5, 2010
“May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise you”
(Psalm 67:3, NIV).
It’s a beautiful vision: People who speak Kirmanjki and Kabyle, Thai and
Tatar, and use sign language in Czech—all knowing and praising God. It’s
a vision that comes closer to being realized every year as Christians seek
unreached people groups to tell them the story of Jesus.
Southern Baptists have followed God’s lead to focus attention on bringing
all the world’s peoples to Him. And God has responded to the faithfulness of His people.
There is much to celebrate!
Are we there yet? Not yet.
But for the first time in history, we can identify the people groups that remain untouched by
the Gospel. We can get there in our generation! But that last part of the journey may be the
hardest. It will take all of us—our churches, our missionaries, our national partners, our Great
Commission partners.

Southern Baptists must continue to increase their giving to support missionaries through the
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®. They must pray strategically. And they must own the Great
Commission as never before to see that all peoples know Him.

The First Noel...Born is the King

December 12, Sunday at 6:30pm
Music by Jay Rouse and Narrative written by Randy Vader

Historically there was only one First Noel - all the Noels to follow were celebrations of that
extraordinary Holy Night.
However, there are many who may never experience a true Noel - a true Christmas - a
celebration of the coming of the Savior.
Christmas begins when the Christ of Christmas is born in the hearts of those who seek
Him. He comes to us - He moves among us - not because of our merit, but because of His
mercy.
This could be your time to experience the miracle of Christmas - this could be your time to
come to the hallowed manger ground -
This could be your time to behold His glory - come and worship, you will not be turned
away, this could be your First Noel.

Spread the word to have family and friends join you....share the Miracle of Christmas!

Children’s COAT DRIVE 2010

A little before Thanksgiving we will start collecting
Children’s Coats in sizes 5 - 18. Sunday School
Classes, circle groups or individuals may contribute
coats or money to buy coats.
Last year approximately 250 to 260 coats were given to
children as a result of this coat campaign. The first two Sundays in December, an
offering will be taken up in each S/S Class to provide monies for coats.

Money can be sent to the LBA and Elizabeth Harris will purchase coats. Please have
your donations in on or before December 15.

Then on Saturday, December 18, 9am to 1pm at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, the
coats will be given out to low income children whose names have been supplied by
area schools. If anyone would like to volunteer to help give out the coats, please
contact Elizabeth at 832.0455.
Supported by the WMU and the LBA
Note: Lewis Murray came by from Frito Lay Lynchburg, and they are planning again
to collect coats for Coats 4 Kids. THANKS
LYNCHBURG CHRISTMAS PARADE
WLBC FLOAT
DECEMBER 4, 2010 - 7pm
Downtown Lynchburg - Main Street

.......Everybody loves a PARADE!

We are very excited to be participating in the Christmas Parade this year. The theme
of the parade is “ A stroll down memory lane.” We would like to do three individual
scenes on our float. 1) A living nativity scene, 2) A scene from our past - 1905 3) A
scene from our present - 2010. This is an ambitious undertaking and we need your
help.

Here is a list of items needed so far:

People: We will need children for the scene from the past and present; youth or
young adults for the nativity scene; one senior adult for the scene from the past; other
adults to ride and help with the children; and to walk and handout candy.

Rocking Chair: would like a rocker that looks like it is from 1900's

Old area rugs: rugs that are not in use anymore

Individually wrapped Christmas Candy

White Christmas lights

If anyone has any of the above items they would like to donate please contact Tammy
Curling: Phone: 237.1374 email: tammy.curling@genworth.com

Parade Committee Meeting Schedule:

11/14 - 5:30pm; 11/18 - 7pm; 11/21 - 5:30pm; 11/28 - 5:30pm; 12/2 - 7pm
T.C. Miller Elementary School
Christmas Shop

WMU is partnering with T. C. Miller to help with their

Christmas Shop.

Unfortunately the room where T. C. Miller stored the items

for sale, had a water leak and everything had to be thrown
out. They are in great need of anything that will help with
their Christmas Shop.

The Christmas Shop provides elementary school children the opportunity to purchase
Christmas gifts for each member of their family for minimum cost. For pennies this
shop makes the children feel good at Christmas time by being able to purchase small
gifts with their own money.

What we are looking for is the perfect guilt free reason to RE-GIFT!

These gifts need to be in original containers and preferably new items.

Looking for trinket boxes, candy dishes, candles, knick-knacks, body washes, lotions,
stationary sets, jewelry, children’s toys, stuffed animals, something for dad; things
that you may not have a use for.

Their SALE begins on December 18, please have your donations to WLBC by December
15, Wednesday.

A collection box is located in the church foyer. A WMU Project

Any questions contact Edna Krebs THANK YOU

We Welcome Living Proof Singers

The ministry of Living Proof and Primary Focus consists of

college aged members between the ages of 18 and 25. Divided into
several Teams, these young people participate in a variety of outreach
ministries.
Our Teams travel throughout the country providing both church concerts
and public school assembly programs. Known as Living Proof when
ministering in churches, their contemporary gospel concerts will reach
over 250 congregations annually.
These same Teams appear in public elementary schools throughout the
traditional school calendar year. As Primary Focus, their character based
musical assembly productions provide biblical values and wholesome role
models to over 1,000,000 school students each year making their
assembly outreach programs the “most seen” in America today. To our
knowledge, these young Champions for Christ have the privilege of
ministering in more churches and schools than any other traveling ministry
in the United States.
