Abstract
This report presents the factors that affect the implementation of a business strategy and plans.
The organization selected for the report was Spark NZ that aimed to go for 5G internet and
communication services in the year 2020. This strategic objective of the company is clear and
attainable for this purpose a schedule is developed for the implementation of the plan,
monitoring design and evaluation of the framework to ensure the successful implementation of
the plan. The report also evaluates how leadership, change management, and organizational
culture impact the implementation of the strategic plan.

1 Factors affecting the implementation of a strategic plan
Some of the factors that may affect the implementation of the strategic plan of Spark NZ can
be discussed as follows:
c) Implementation tactics
The implementation tactics used by the management and leadership of the organization also
affect the implementation of the strategic plans of a company. It is also important that how the
management of the Spark NZ manage the change and use tactics such as intervention,
participation, and persuasion to implement the strategic plan of the company (Cole, 2019).

e) Commitment
Commitment is another important factor that affects the implementation of the strategic plans
of an organization. If the company does not get continuous support and commitment from the
employees and strategic plan then the strategic plan of the company might fail. Similarly in
case of Spark NZ if the company does not receive support and commitment from its employees
to work to achieve the strategic plan of introducing 5G internet technology then the
organization may fail to achieve its plan (Cole, 2019).
f) Organizational structure
The organizational structure of an organization is also an important factor that impacts the
implementation of the strategic plan of the business organizations. The organization strategic
plan may differ with the existing organizational structure of the company, therefore, it is
important that the company’s organizational structure must be aligned with the strategic plan.
In the case of Spark NZ, the company aims to make some changes in the organizational
structure to implement the future objectives and strategic plans of the company (Cole, 2019).
g) Communication
Communication is the key to success of any business strategic plan. In case of Spark NZ it the
responsibility of the leadership and management of the company to communicate the strategic
plans to the concerned persons and team members so that they can work in the right direction
and mutual goal. Communication also plays a great role in motivating the employees as they
feel engaged and part of the organization strategic plans (Stanleigh, 2011).

make necessary adjustments before any crisis or problem hit the company. This also provides
the company with a chance to adapt and modify the monitoring system according to the stages
of the strategic plan. The evaluation of the monitoring design and framework also develop the
culture where employees feel valued for their contributions. The analysis and evaluation of
monitoring system will also develop the culture in the organization where employees must get
his intimation that successful implementation of the strategic plan is extremely important for
the organization (Hommes, 2012).
The leadership of the organization plays an important role in the implementation of the
organizations business strategy. It highly depends on how the leadership and management of
the company develop the tactics and plan for the implementation of the strategy. The leadership
of the company manages to engage the employees and ensure the employee commitment
towards the implementation of the strategy. It also matters that how the leadership of the
business organization communicate the strategic plan to the employees and team members to
keep them motivated and involved in the company’s future objectives (IQ, 2017). The
organization culture of the company also impacts the implementation of the strategic plan of
any business organization. If the culture of the company is vertical and does not involve the
participation and intervention to implement the strategic plan then it is most likely that the
strategic plan of the business might fail. Similarly, if the management does not create the
culture of communication and successful implementation of the strategic plans then it highly
impacts the implementation process. Strategic change management is also another important
tool that impacts the implementation of the business strategy. It is the responsibility of the
leadership and management of the company to effectively manage the change and
communicate it to the employees (Lumen, 2019). Business organizations must train their team
members and employees for the upcoming changes in the organization structure, software or
business tactics to ensure the successful implementation of the business strategy. The
organizations that fail to manage change cannot implement the business strategic plans
(Janicijevic, 2012).
