Faculty at 268 schools (53.6% qf a random national sample of 500 US undergraduate psychology programs) replied to a survey of field experience courses with 199 of the respondents (74.3%) indicating such courses were offered. Results found that these faculty saw four major benefits for such courses: Integration of Academic Learning; Career Exploration and Vocational Enhancement; Promotion of Social Conscience and Value Commitments; and Growth in Maturity and Psychological Autonomy.
