A very good morning to our dear lecturer, Mr Fauzi and all my friends.

My name is Lim
Wei Jie, can also call me Lim. Today, I am very proud and happy to give a speech at
there. The topic of my speech is about the “advantages and disadvantages of having
a mobile phone”. Mobile phone become popular in our daily life which cannot lacking
from our life. During we having the mobile phone we can get some advantages and
disadvantages from it. So that, are the advantages of having a mobile phone will more
than disadvantages or the disadvantages of having a mobile phone will more than the
advantages? I will talk in my speech soon.

Firstly, the most advantage of having a mobile phone is we can communicate to

our family or our friends no matter what where we are. For example, we can contact
easily to our friends by calling or sending messages everywhere without electricity. It
is maybe the main reason why almost all people today choose to own a mobile phone.
By using the mobile phone, we can alway keep a good relationship with our family or
friend cause we can communicate with them easily. If wihout a mobile phone, we will
become more harder to communicate with our family and our friends. So that, this is
the first advantage that we own a mobile phone.

Beside that, the second advantage of having a mobile phone is we can relax with
mobile phone’s applications. For example video game, listen to music, chat with our
friends and so on. So that, when we meet the harder work like assignment we can
take a rest by the applications that get form mobile phone. Therefore, we can prevent
us alway under the stress condition. Beside that, during the phone application like
video game, we can also meet new friend through it. For example, like PUBG we can
meet people which come form different country like Chinese, American and so on.

Thirdly, if we have own a mobile phone, our studying will becomes more effective
such as look up dictionary, find out many materials on internet which is useful for
studying. It can help us to save our time when studying by eliminating the need to
search information manually. So that wihout a mobile phone, we need to take a long
time to find materials and look up dictionary. Therefore, our studying will become
more efficient and faster. This advantage is very useful for people which can improve
efficiency in studying.

Nowadays, our mobile phones keep us informed about everything. We can install
applications with the help of which we can know about all the latest news. You don’t
need to carry cameras as you can click amazing pictures with your mobile phones.
We can also record our voice. With the help of GPS technology, we can know about
all the locations even about where more traffic is and where is less. There is also a
flashlight in our phones which helps us like a handy torch. There are
various educational applications that may help in increasing the knowledge of people.

Today, Mobile Phones acts as our instructor, teacher, guide, advisor, director etc.
our parents stay less worried as they can call us anytime and get to know about us.
You don’t always need laptops for connecting to Social Medias and making
presentations. We can also set a reminder in our Mobile Phones so that we don’t
forget our important days. We can listen to songs FM radio etc. video Chat option,
MMS, sending emails all these functions can also be performed with the help of
Mobile Phones.

On the other hand, the mobile phone is also many disadvantages. Firstly, mobile
phone user become to addicted their mobile phone if they are too depends on it. For
example, nowaday many teenager addicted their mobile phone’ video game like
PUBG, Mobile Legend and so on. It cause most of the teenager didn’t pair their
attention on study. Beside that, most of the teenager playing games late at night. This
also bad to health condition.

Secondly, the ability of human communication is limited if the mobile phone is

more present in some event such as class meetings, on the bus, in the park and so on.
That is because some people only focus on their phone without communicating. This
action is bad on our relationsip with other people. Beside that, people will lack of
communication skills cause by alway focus on mobile phone and cause poor
relationship with our friend and family.

Thirdly, one of the weaknesses of mobile phones is that they are so reliant on
battery power. You are constantly having to check how much power is left, as well as
find ways to recharge. Battery power is improving all the time, but rather than helping,
all that happens is that new models are made that are more power-hungry. On top of
that, the overall life of a mobile phone battery is just two to three years.

As everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, mobile phones also
have its advantages as well disadvantages. We should use mobile phones properly
without harming our health, life, environment and others life.
