What is Islam?
Islam is an Abrahamic and monotheistic religion teaching that there is only one God
and that Muhammad is a messenger of God.

Islam is the world second largest religion with over 1.9 billion followers or 24.4% of
the world population.

Islam is believed to be originated in the early 7th century CE (Common Era) in Mecca.

Most of the Muslims belongs one of two denominations:

Sunni (75-90%)

Shia (10-20%)

Pakistan as an Islamic country:

Pakistan emerges on the map of world on 14th of august 1947 as an Islamic country
that is practiced by 96.28% of the population as Muslims.

Pakistan has the second largest number of Muslims in the world after Indonesia.

But still today we can say without exaggeration about Pakistan that their condition,
spirituals as well as material are deplorably unsatisfactory.

What are the reasons behind the today condition of Muslims when we are available
with all our freedom, all of our rights then why are we still suspicious to fall?

Then why we are still not a true Muslims

There is a lot of reason behind the fall of Muslims in Pakistan and all over the world

Today I would present a few of them at front of you.

Firstly now if we look, we as a Muslim have shown an utter indifference to our moral
instruction. It is as a result of this disregard that lying, dishonesty, embezzlement,
theft, fraud, adulteration, devouring of interest, deceit in weighing, false accusations,
breaking promises, involvement in occult disciplines, labeling one another with
disbelief and defiance, worshipping graves, polytheistic rituals, detestable forms of
entertainment and other similar crimes are so common in today in our societies that
one is struck with wonder. It was these wrong-doings of the Israelites on the basis of
which the prophets of God cursed them and they were eternally deprived of God's
mercy. And now we are doing the same mistake. We are gone far away from it. If a
person wants to take a glimpse at them, he should read the Gospel where Jesus (sws)
has stated the charge-sheet of the Israelites, of their scholars, their intellectuals and
their rulers. The whole situation of Muslim societies cries out that they are even worse
than the Jews of today in their wrong-doings.

Secondly as a Muslim we were entrusted with the Book of God. That was not merely
a book. It is the yardstick of God revealed to decide between truth and falsehood. We
should present all our religious differences before it and whatever verdict it gives, we
should have to accept it without any hesitation. It should be the basis of our beliefs
and deeds. It should be the source of all matters relating to faith. Every research,
every opinion and every viewpoint must be kept subservient to it; so much so, even
the words of the prophets of God should not be considered authority over it. On the
contrary, it should be regarded as having authority over everything. Unfortunately,
since the past many years we are not able to confer this status on the Qur'an in our
beliefs and deeds. Hence, as pointed out by Allama Iqbal:
‫مہجوری قرآں شدی‬
ِ ‫خوار از‬
(You are in a state of humiliation because of leaving aside the Qur'an.)

Thirdly today conservative Muslims in Pakistan have made the Muslims helpless
victims of poverty and indigence by reducing Islam to a religion of mere other-
worldly preoccupations. . . . It is these conservatives who declared war on natural
science, mathematics, and all creative arts, condemned them as the practices of
infidels and thereby deprived Muslims of the fruits of science. . . .

As Allah almighty has said in Quran

“And hold fast, all together, to the rope of Allah and be not divided
amongst yourselves.”

And what are we doing today as a Muslim we are fighting with each other, abuse each
other
If you look at the past Muslims of the early period of Islam they were ready to give all
types of sacrifices. In their view the religion of Islam and its commands were more
respectable to him than his family, wealth and property. They used to sacrifice all
their material possessions on Islam. And the history of Islam, especially the battles
fought by the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) is living testimonies of this. But now if we
look around our self and in our society people have left religion on one side and this
spirit of sacrifice is nowhere to be seen. Today in Pakistan Islam in sacred only to the
limit that it is not a hurdle to our wealth and position. On the other hand there would
be very few people who would refrain from something profitable just on the basis of
religious law. Because we are no more a Muslim in true sense

The question arises here is how could we find the solution of our problems

We don’t need to go to famous Oxford or Harvard University to find out the solution
for the present problems in we are facing in our society. Because we have the glorious
Quran and sayings of Muhammad (PBUH) which we got for free, never paid, has
answer for all questions and solutions to all problems!
The solution is simple predicted in the glorious Quran and that is to change the
present life style of Muslims which don’t comply with Quran and Sunna.
As glorious Quran speak:
“Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it
themselves (with their own souls).”

Furthermore, these disgraceful days is due to one of the reasons as described in one
verse of Quran 2:85, in which Allah says
When believers accept (i.e. follows) some part of the book and reject some then
certainly they will face disgraceful days.
Allah is explaining this subject by giving an example in the Quran 2:85, which states
as follows:
“……So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is
the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; --“

Muhammad (peace be upon him) the truthful (i.e. amen & saadiq in Arabic) prophet
& messenger of God, foretold the present hard days of trial & destruction (i.e. fitna) in
Muslim world is based on their characters and who could be more truthful than him?
He said when his umma would involve in fifteen (15) evil things then they would see
days of trials & destruction.
The best guidance is the guidance given by Prophet Muhammad (sallal la’hu alaih
wa’sallam),as he identified one of the major causes of these days of destruction &
disgrace is due to luxury brands, competition & boasting to degrade each other.
Beloved prophet swore God as he said, “By Allah, I am not afraid of your poverty but
I am afraid that you will lead a life of luxury as past nations did, whereupon you will
compete with each other for it, as they competed for it, and it will destroy you as it
destroyed them."(For details refer to Bukhari 4.385),”
On the other hand, the tip of prosperity (i.e. to increase provisions and to have good
health) is to keep good relations with relatives but should never do any jealousy and
nor do any boasting (i.e. overemphasize possessions or accomplishments) to degrade
them.
Furthermore, another true prophesy of true Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as he again
swore God that when people wouldn’t advise each other to virtue (i.e. for doing good
deeds) and would not stop evil things then God certainly send punishments on them
