ESP Process Installation

1. P/U and M/U new powerlift esp unit as follow:

a. PUMP UT (upper tandem)
b. PUMP LT (lower tandem)
c. PGG  comprises of several stgs
d. Separator
e. Protector
f. Motor
g. Sensor
h. Stopper
2. RIH ESP to Packer position. We need to conduct pressure test for every 15 STDS (stands) in 5
minutes with 1000 psi.
 When reaching packer assembly, transport packer to the landing box. The issue here is the
Packer is quite long thus should be extra careful when transporting it to the landing box.
 Pick up packer

X/L NIPPLE

 Remove x nipple from the packer  when transporting it, x nipple is connected to the end
of packer.
 Grease the x nipple
 Install x nipple + 1 jts tubing. Within this x nipple, prong plug has been inside the x nipple in
order to pressure check the x nipple to 2800 psi. That pressure is applied when we will set
the packer later. After the packer is installed, this prong plug will be pulled out using S/L unit
when the tubing hanger has been connected and landed to wellhead.
 Install the adapter (around 1 ft tubing) to conduct pressure test (applied pressure is around
1500 psi)

PACKER

 Lift the packer using traveling block, open the thread protector and grease the thread.
 In packer there are 3 lines, those are for chemical line, vent valve, and cable line. In this
case, twin seal packer is used (using two rubber) and there are 4 slip (metal wedge) that is
set to grip the casing when 1400 psi pressure is applied.
 Cut the cable for around 370 ft because the tail of the cable will be pass through the packer.

CABLE TUBE

 Pass cable ESP through the packer.

 Reel up the cable to the cable spool until all cable are untangled.
 Peel off the cable outer armor, diamplas, and then put the back off  put ring seal  put
rubber ring.
 Test the sealing quality

VENT VALVE

 Test vent valve by injecting 3000 psi. When:

o Pressure apply  vent valve will be opened (there is gas communication from lower
annulus and upper annulus)
o Pressure release  vent valve will be closed
 Running packer + 1jts 3-1/2” NPC + cable line + control line as well (put in packer to control
the vent valve)

TRSV (Tubing Retrievable Safety Valve)

 TRSV. When pressure is applied, it is opened meaning that tubing is not blocked. When
pressure is released, it is closed meaning that tubing is blocked. When in production mode,
this TRSV is supplied with pressure from p/f to keep the TRSV open (3000 psi)
