ANCHORING SCRIPT FOR A CULTURAL EVENT

Today is the big day,


To think of how far-flung we have come,
And how afar we have to go?
Along with multifarious struggles and triumphs,
There is much more to thrive and much more to show.
Let’s rejoice the majestic journey,
This establishment had had up to now,
Let’s raise a toast to make it even better,
Let us take a vow!
Anchor 1: Good evening to one and all present here, our honoured management/Director,
Well acclaimed chief guests and guests of honour, All treasured invitees, Revered teachers
and of course our startling students. How lovely is this day? And so does the ambience and
aura surrounding it? Soon the colours of this merriment will unfold and will transport us to
another world.
Anchor 2: Yes dear, we are all joined together as a family to reveal addition of another
milestone of our accomplishment in the history of one of the leading group of schools of
JNANASAGARA CENTRAL SCHOOL, KOMMANALU. We are here to celebrate our
FOURTH CULTURAL FEAST.
I ________and I ________, we welcome you all on behalf of the entire school.

Anchor-1: Without taking much of your time, permit us to start the programme.
___________ do you feel some turbulence around here ?

Anchor-2: Yes, I do – the heart beats have gone up – and everyone is eager to sink into the
depth of music, song, lights and joy. Well, here you are. Today, we will have rainbow of
cultural programmes prepared under the able stewardship of our teachers.

Anchor 1: So put your hands together, ladies and gentleman for the first performance.

1. Prayer dance:
Anchor 2: Vakratunda Mahakaya
Surya Koti Sama Prabha
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva
Sarva Karyesu Sarvada.

Anchor 1: Hey _______, why are you chanting sloka?


Anchor 2: Dear ______, it is universally acknowledged that every programme starts with
seeking a blessing of Lord Ganesha who is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and
obstacles.
Anchor 1: Yes, He is also worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and
wealth. Ganesha is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness and pride. He is the
personification of material universe in all its various magnificent manifestations.
Anchor 2: Let us seek blessing of lord Ganesha.
Anchor 1: Yes, Here are my friends from class _______ coming with a prayer dance to
visualise Ganesha’s various incarnations. Please welcome them onto the stage.

Anchor 2: Thank you friends for praying on behalf all of us lord Ganesha by your Excellent
performance.

2. Dance of Pre-KG:
Anchor1:Hi ______…
Anchor2: Hello ______…
Anchor1: You know friend today, over thousand people gathered in JCS..
Anchor 2: Yeah.. I too see them..I think they are very eager to see the dance performance of
our illuminating stars of JCS.
Anchor 1: Hmm… , do you know why we all people like to dance?
Anchor 2: Yes I know, because dance is the most beautiful form of expression of human
feelings.
Anchor 1: Yeah friend… you are right. We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance
for madness, we dance for fears and we dance for happiness,
Anchor 2: Indeed.. , we also dance for hopes, we dance for screams. We are the dancers, we
create dreams.
Anchor 1: Now we are to witness some cute Pre-KG dancers on the stage. May I please
welcome the stepping stones of our school with their Chinese dance performance …..

Anchor 2: It was a joyful performance. Thank you stepping stones for your spectacular
performance.

4.Dance of LKG ‘B’:


Anchor1: Hi..Do you know anything about special celebrations???
Anchor2: Celebrations???? They are the most favorite function of us. We like to go always,
like to meet friends.
Anchor 1: We have several different celebration styles, they are sure to fit our needs.
Anchor 2: Yes, our everyday life is worth for celebrating some celebrations, but we get extra
excited around here when there's a special occasion on the horizon.…
Anchor 1: Shall we go to celebrate special party now????
Anchor 2: No need...Our LKG buddies already arranged celebration in our school with their
performance... Please welcome them on to the stage..

Anchor 1: Thank you kids for your awesome performance.

6. Dance of UKG- “B”


Anchor 2: You know there is something coming in my mind...... music and dance.
Anchor 1: Is it so? ________, then I am having a surprise for you.....
Anchor 2: Hey then what’s it yaar.................?
Anchor 1: The western steps, wide range of styles like breaking, locking and popping which
made popular song from the film ________. I bet that we all will be forced to clap.
Anchor 2: Ok everybody holds you hearts to see this dazzling dance by our Brimming
buddies.
Anchor 1: May I please welcome the brimming buddies of UKG ‘B’ onto the stage

Anchor 2: Thank you buddies for your unlatching performance..

12.Dance of 6th B:
Anchor 1: I still feel like lost in those melody dipped music notes.
Anchor 2: Well, come back now. Let’s have a change.
Anchor 1: OK, what is next?
Anchor 2: Wait, wait …don’t step over the clock! Come with me to the theatre of life. Now
kids of grade 3rd B will fetch us patriotic dance form.
Anchor 1: Patriotism is the ideology of love and devotion to a homeland, and a sense of
alliance with other citizens who share the same values. This attachment can be a combination
of many different features relating to one's own homeland, including ethnic, cultural,
political or historical aspects. It encompasses a set of concepts closely related to those of
nationalism.
Anchor-2: Really?
Anchor-1: Yes, I see dance being used as communication between people and country to
express what is too deep to find for words.
Anchor-2: Now our unique stars of 3rd B are going g to unleash a breathtaking stage
performance.

Anchor 1: Really it’s fabulous… thank you friends for your unique presentation.

18.Dance of 6th Boys:


Anchor1: Lord Shiva is regarded as the representation of the Supreme Being. He is known
as the third element in the Hindu Trinity (Trimurti), Shiva is the destructive form of the
Almighty. As the cycle of destruction and recreation is always in a circle, Shiva’s primary
responsibility is maintaining the life cycle.
Anchor2: Whenever in the world, the balance between good and evil is disturbed, the
almighty god always helped with his blessings in the form of various incarnation according
to the situation to remove the height of evilness..
Anchor 1: We children of the god are looking for his blessings and wondering in what form
he will come again to take us from hell of evilness to the heaven of humanity.
Anchor 2: it is now the students from class 6th boys coming up with Shiva taandava dance
to entertain us. Please welcome them onto stage.
Anchor1: What a breathtaking routine.. and a perfect combination of elegant and splendid .

20. India wale (8th Boys)


Anchor1: how captivating isn’t it??? ________ Every kid, every child, every class, every
section of JCS says they are not less than any here.
Anchor 2: It is a mark of JCS dear.. we watched just a moment ago girls of 7th girls
exhibited their mesmerizing dance performance..
Anchor 1: The heart beats have gone up – and everyone is eager to sink into the depth of
music, song, lights and joy. Now we will jump into another song.
Anchor 2: Now it’s boys turn. The boys of 8th std coming onto the stage to outsmart other all
performance with their extraordinary dance for the party song.. Please welcome them on the
stage

Anchor 1: lok kehte humko pyaar se ...Indiawalee........The performance was really


thunderstroming and mind blowing........Thank you dear friends....

24. Yoga:
Anchor1: Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice which originated in India. Yoga
as a disciplined method for attaining a goal; Yoga as techniques of controlling the body and
the mind; It aims to achieve good health through a series of physical and mental exercises.
The method yoga comprises various ‘Asanas’ that aim to keep the body healthily. Yoga is
not a religion; it is a way of living whose aim is ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’.
Anchor2: Here comes children from class 3 to 8 to give a glimpse of various Asanas.. Please
welcome them onto the stage.

Anchor1: Thank you friends for your Meticulous performance. You made all our audience
spell bound .

27. Karate:
Anchor 1: Karate is a Japanese martial art. It uses no weapons but instead stands on three
basic movements, the hands and feet thrust, kick and arm strikes. Karate is primarily a
striking art, featuring punching, kicking, knee/elbow strikes and open hand techniques;
Karate is characterized by the use of the hips and stances to generate striking power, by the
distinctive use of breathing to focus power, and by the practice of prearranged forms.
Anchor2: Now may I please welcome the students from class 2 to 5 with various karate
stunts to mesmerise us.
