raw materials to more valuable products is called manufacturing sector.
Four types of manufacturing sectors on the basis of ownership are-
1. Public sector owned by govt. agencies. For eg. BHEL,SAIL etc.
2. Private sector owned by individuals or a group of individuals. For eg. TISCO, Bajaj
Auto ltd., Dabur Industries etc.
3. Joint sector jointly owned by the state and individuals. For eg. Oil India ltd etc.
4. Cooperative sector are owned by and operated by the producers or suppliers of raw
materials, workers or both. For eg. Anand, Mother Diary, OMFED, Sugar industry
and coir industry etc.

1. The most common form of communalism is in everyday religious ideas of people.
People often believe that the ideas of their religion are superior to the ideas of others
religions.
2. People of a particular religion often want the maximum representation of their
religion in the politics.
3. Communalism in politics sometimes takes the shape of political mobilization on
communal lines.

together to contest elections and hold power in the government.
Functions of political parties:

3. Parties play a decisive role in making laws.

5. Defeated parties in the election play its role of opposition to the parties in power.

ANS.25 Tertiary Sector is one which creates services like teaching, engineering,
accountancy, medical services, banking and scores of the others. The contribution of tertiary
sector in the GDP is more than the other two sectors.
1. The govt. takes direct responsibility for the development of tertiary sector because it
provides basic services to the people like hospitals, education institutions, post
offices, police station, telephone etc.
2. The development of agriculture and industry has also led to the development of
services like transport and trade.
3. With the rise in the income levels of the people, more and more services were
demanded by people like hotels, shipping, tourism, private school and private
hospitals.
4. News services based on information and communication have been essential.
