Planning

Brief planning interventions, usually delivered within paper and pencil questionnaires, have been
found to be effective in changing health behaviors. The purpose of this activity was to determine
the physical activity performed by students, how it may relate to their physical fitness and overall
health.
Nevertheless, according to the WHO’s guidelines, 79.8% of students were insufficiently physically
active. Physical inactivity may contribute to anxiety and depression. Sedentary lifestyle makes the
students lazy, trigger other problems as periods cramps. Physical inability also effects on
academic. This is the problem altogether. Gender stereotyping is also the problem for girls, so we
target the university going girls of age 18-23 years old. We make the questionnaires related to
importance of physical activity and distribute among our target population. This is how we get
access to girls’ knowledge and their lifestyle. Most of the participants have sedentary lifestyle with
minimal or no physical activity in routine life. After getting the response we conduct an awareness
campaign (using broacher, flyer) among same girls. In addition to it we arranged a physical activity
session with those young girls. Session includes some workout, exercises and other sort of physical
activities. Duration of session was half an hour daily in a week. After it we are going to have the
post testing questionnaire again filled by the participants. This gives us the output of physical
activities on their health. We can analyze about how they perceive the session and what knowledge
they gain by it. What changes are made in student’s lifestyle and how it effects on them, will know
via our questionnaire.
This is how we can construct a plan and make an intervention for adoption of physical activity in
young student’s life.
