To post on thrift store social media platforms (tagging @pottershousekids) and general social
media platforms (tagging @pottershousethrift)

Part 1

Instagram

Potters House Thrift Store already has an active instagram account that they post to frequently.
Our goal is to get our information out quickly and efficiently. College students and young adults
make up a large part of our target demographic and Instagram is used largely by this group. 31%
of internet users between the ages of 18 and 24 use Instagram and 32% of internet users between
the ages of 25 and 34 use Instagram (Omnicore, 2019). We would target students and young
adults by posting a photo and tagging the University of Arkansas and the Fayetteville Square to
gain the attention of our target audience.

When promoting on Instagram in the form of a post, followers will be encouraged to share, like
and comment generating a larger reach for the pop-up shop. The story will be up for 24 hours. To
get the most recognition, we would post in the morning at 6 a.m. on Thursday. The Instagram
post will be posted between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday because that is the most active time
for social media users (HubSpot, 2019).

Instagram Story: When viewers swipe up on the story, they will be taken to
pottershousekids.com where more information about location, times and dates will be provided
along with more information about Potter’s House and what the pop-up shop will be doing for
the nonprofit.
Part 2

Facebook

Potter’s House has Facebook pages for the thrift store and for their ministries which will reach a
wide audience of community members. The thrift store page has about four thousand followers
and the general page has about two thousand. Facebook is the most widely used social platform
and pages with smaller followings usually get more engagement and reach (WordStream, 2019).
39% of Facebook users will follow a page to receive a special offer (AdEspresso, 2019). We will
make it clear that by following the Facebook page and sharing the post, shoppers will get 15%
off their first pop-up shop purchase. Facebook posts with photos receive 179% more engagement
than other posts. (AdEspresso, 2019). The photos, the one seen below and others of desirable
merchandise that will be sold, unique and interesting posts to catch user’s attention.

We will post to Facebook on Thursday or Friday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. because it is the best
time where there will be the highest engagement and reach (Buffer, 2019).
