Guide Lines for Vacational/Project based/Practical training at Visakhapatnam Steel

Plant (VSP) on chargeable basis for students:-

a) Technical Training Institute (TTI) is the nodal department for the conduct of Industrial
/Project Based Training for students.
b) Only the bonafide students who have completed at least 3(Three) years of study
in Engg. or 1 (one) year of study in M.Sc./MCA, etc are eligible.
c) Project request letter in original sent well in advance to DGM (Trg.) I/c, TTI through
Colleges/Institutions, indicating clearly the period of training / project work, starting
date etc., will be considered.
d) The students who receive the confirmation letters from TTI in response to their requests
will be allowed to join for training/project work.
e) Training charges will be on weekly basis as detailed below:
i. For the first 8 weeks the training charges will be @ Rs.300/- per student per week
or part thereof.
ii. For the next 10 weeks the training charges will be @ Rs.200/- per student per
week or part thereof.
iii. For the period extending beyond 18 weeks till the completion of training the
training charges will be @Rs.100/- per student per week or part thereof.
iv. There will be no charges for the wards of VSP employees including the wards of
CISF personnel working for VSP, subject to certification by the concerned VSP
Zonal Personnel Officer/CISF Commandant.
v. Students belonging to SC/ST category will be allowed 50% concession subject to
their submitting a community certificate duly signed by a competent authority at
the time of joining.
vi. The charges in full for the desired period are to be paid in advance by means
of a Challan at Bank of Baroda, Vadlapudi Branch, in Steel Plant premises,
Visakhapatnam, at the time of their joining. The challan is to be collected from
TTI.
vii. Charges once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

f) Joinings will be taken strictly on confirmation dates only i.e. on Monday and the
period from Monday to Saturday or Part thereof will be counted as one week.
g) TTI will extend all the necessary help and co-ordinate the training.
h) Students will have to arrange for their safety helmets, shoes and girl students are
advised to wear apron and follow all the safety rules and regulations of the company.
i) VSP will not be responsible for any untoward incident happened involving the students
during their training period.
j) TTI has full discretion to terminate the training of any student(s) without assigning any
reason.
k) On completion of the training/project the student has to report at TTI to receive their
Training / Project Completion Certificate along with No due cum attendance certificate
in the prescribed proforma duly certified by the Departmental Co-Ordinator/Project
guide. Trainees coming from out station should plan their return journey after
5:30 pm on the last day of training as the after completion of all the formalities at
VSP.
l) Please don’t come to Technical Training Institute, VSP without having prior
permission for the training.
