Introduction

The verb to be and its auxiliaries is one of the most important topics in English as it allows us

to talk about the names of people, ages, nationalities and works. In practice it is widely used to

greet people and introduce theself to them. This Spanish verb has a meaning of being or being, of

course, that the name of each of these contexts has to do with the logic of prayers.

This activity you have to plan your first class, if you are a teacher you have to plan your class

with your students, if you are not a teacher you have to plan your class with your classmates,

imagine that your classmate are your students, for this class you have to do a diary, please follow

the instructions

a) What is the school method ? ( If you do not work as a teacher, choose the method)

b) Realice a paragraph, 5 lines, about the method.

c) Identify the population ( Who are they ? How many students are ? what is your age ? What

is your social position, what kind the school is ?)

d) Write topic and 3 objectives.

e) Describe the activity step by step.

F) Conclusion: Conclude with your own words all the data collected and the pedagogical

issues related to this information.

A) the grammatical translation method

B) This method is based on the teaching of a second language in the detailed analysis of

the grammatical rules and their exceptions and then apply the knowledge acquired to

the translation of sentences and texts that is made from the language to its own and

conversely , grammar is taught deductively, that is, through the direct study of

grammatical rules

The class of the grammatical translation method (verb to be /ser or ser) reproduces the

methodology used for teaching Latin in school contexts, so that the teacher:

• read sing a portion of grammar (the "lesson") and proceed to its explanation (in the mother

tongue)

• ask the lesson to students and correct the answers given and control the memorization of the

lesson through the recitation of the lesson by the student (along with the corresponding lexicon).

• makes cultural, philological, grammatical comments (in the mother tongue);

• manages the good development of the class: maintenance of order, silence, incitement to

work, management of speaking shifts.

Students, for their part:

• listen to the teacher's explanations;

• memorize the portion of grammar and the proposed lexicon;

• recite the lesson and answer the teacher's questions;

• carry out a series of exercises consisting of various modalities of translation; application

F) Conclusion

The verb TO BE is one of the main ones used as an auxiliary verb, which means that it helps

you to form different times (conjugate). It means TO BE or BE. The verb "to be" serves to be

able to communicate several very useful aspects such as "talking about a person" (their name,

nationality, where it is, their profession, how it feels, etc.) and "describing the characteristics of

someone or something" (what is something, their color, a who belongs, etc.).
