• Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the Communicative Approach, and

organized through the PPP procedure.

• Materials and resources: Copies of the test, papers and pens.

• Pedagogical use of ICT in class: In this lesson, I won’t use any ICT element, but I’ll give
them homework using their cellphones to record themselves.

• Seating arrangement: They will stay in their classroom sitting in rows but in pairs.

 Cooperative work: they will complete the test individually but they will prepare the
job interview in pairs.

 Potential problems students may have with the language: Students may have some
problems with the tasks of the test. They may also find difficult to speak fluently as in
a real job interview.

 Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I’ll check the correct use of conditional
sentences structures and I’ll also check their speaking skills while they practice for the
job interview.
Routine: 5’

Purpose: to start the lesson, get students into the mood for work, establish initial rapport.

I’ll get into the classroom and greet the students. I’ll ask them how they are and how their
week was.

Warm-up 10’:

Purpose: to review vocabulary and prepare for the last activity.

We will repeat the activity we did last class to hand in their CVs, since not all of them
brought it that class. Students will have to introduce themselves and say what job they
are applying for.

T: I’ll walk around the classroom so you can give me your CVs introducing yourselves,
saying your name, your age and what job you are applying for, as we did last class. For
example again, I would say: Good morning, my name is María de los Angeles Svidersky,
I’m 25 years old and I’m applying for the job as an English teacher that this school is
offering. Is it right now? So, let’s start!”

Presentation 5’:

Purpose: to review vocabulary and 2nd conditional sentences.

I will start the lesson reviewing the structures of 1st and 2nd conditional sentences. I’ll also
ask them to give an example of each type of conditional and I’ll copy them on the board.
Once they are sure about them, I’ll directly move to the evaluation stage:

Transition: “Now let´s start with the test! I’ll give you the copies, we will read the exercises
together, and then you’ll start working.”

Development 55’:

 Activity 1 - 40’:
Purpose: to present the activities and complete the test.

I’ll give them the test and I’ll read the activities aloud so that they can understand the
tasks.

Students will complete the WRITTEN TEST.

 Activity 2 - 15’:
Purpose: to further expose the learners to the target language and develop their speaking
skills.

During the last minutes of the class, students will work in pairs. They will work on the
questions I gave them last class, and they will start practicing for a job interview. They will
have to develop both roles (interviewed and interviewer). They will finally record the
video and send it to the teacher for their final evaluation.

Closure 5’:

I will explain the again for the last time how they will have to record their interviews and
send it to the teacher.
