Sample Answer to PART 1

High school
1. Which subject do you like best? Which subject do you dislike?
I liked to learn geography, because I'm interested in learning about different countries and cultures.
But I hated chemistry, which contained a lot of terms and calculations.

2. Are you still in contact with your friends in high school?

Yes, I have some really good friends from high school, with whom I still stay in touch. Distance can't
separate true friends.

3. What was your life in high school like?

It's bittersweet. I was really busy with schoolwork, so I had to study really late in the evening. But I
often chatted with friends during breaks and went running before going to bed. It was full of
memories.

Sample Answer to PART 2

Speaking of a good parent, I think of my own father. He is a teacher in high school. To me,
he is a father, a teacher and a friend. When I went to school, he helped me with schoolwork.
Of course, he didn't simply show me the answers. Instead, he gave me hints and led me to
7
work out the problems one step after another and then patiently explained the whole process
to me. On weekends, my father often went hiking with me. And while we were walking in the
woods, he would lead me to think about life and teach me how to become a helpful person.
Now I don’t see my father a lot, because I go to college in another city. But every time I go
home, my father will cook a big meal for me. I will tell him about the problems I encounter at
school and he can always offer useful suggestions. So, my father is the best parent I know.

Sample Answer to PART 3

1. If you were a parent and you were busy at work, would you take care of your children on
your own or hire a babysitter?
If I can afford a babysitter, I would hire one to take care of my children. It doesn't mean that I'm not
responsible as a parent, on the contrary, I think it's sensible to do so because if I'm too busy at work, it
would be impossible for me to take good care of my children. And many babysitters now are certified and 8
are more professional than us in terms of childcare. So, they can even take better care of my children. But
of course, I need to spend more time with the children myself whenever I have time.

2. Do you think it's fair for mothers to take care of children all the time?
No, it's not. I think it's both parents' responsibility to look after the children. Nowadays, women can also
be busy at workplaces, so it's unfair if they must take care of the children all the time. So, fathers should
help too. If both parents work together, they can provide better care and love for their children. Besides,
children will not be close to their fathers if he doesn't spend time taking care of them, and it will also be
harmful to the children's growth.

3. Some teenagers don't like to be controlled by their parents. What do you think?
Firstly, I think parents should not try to control their children. Instead, they should guide them,
influence them, understand them and support them. Secondly, teenagers tend to be disobedient at 9

their age because they start to have their own ideas and opinions. Their parents should try to talk to
them more and understand them better, so they can help their children in the right way.
