Introduction (by Farhi) : The intent of this part is to ensure a fluent transition between
Boughazi’s presentation and yours :
Script (example) : The intent of the model presented by our team leader is to reduce our unplanned
downtime. However, this was not our unique barrier last month. The planned downtime as well has
become a real loss. This is for two reasons : the new operating strategy producing to order and the
regular planned tasks updated coming from AM4. For this reason, we decided to reduce this gap by AM5
for different machines. The model I am going to present is for UVA350.
As standard, the model follows 5 steps. The first one is the preparation. The intent of this step is to
materialize the measure the business need for this model. This can be reflected on the link to CBN. First,
we are growing our capability, Then we are helping our service, also the models brings a saving
3000$/year, and finally brings the RTT to its excellence.
2. Step 2 : Restore work process (Farhi) :
Script (example) : The second step was a quick check to our adherence to the standards. The outcome of
this step is : the standard is being followed and respected by qualified equipment owners.
3. Step 3 : Understand the situation : (Farhi)
Script (example) : As next step, we moved to understand the situation. This step was mainly based on
two tools : time observation sheet and travel diagram. Here we can observe the outcome of the time
observation sheet. Listing all the planned tasks (CIL-TBM and safety inspections) and the corresponding
timing. Here we can see the travel diagram for the safety inspections. Ensuring this understanding we
moved to making improvements. I will let my friend present the next steps.

4- Improvements :
Script (example) : So this was a big number a big loss for the company. Reason why we had to complete
some improvements. These improvements were based on WPI 3 thought process (ECRS-Internal
external and the 8 wastes). First, we thought of some kaizens to simplify CIL tasks. Also, we decided to
split the machine into 6 areas as you can see here to guide our ECRS exercice presented on the following
time observation sheet. Based on Internal-External thought process, some inspections were eliminated
and moved to the uptime tour. The safety inspections have also been rearranged. As you can see the
difference between the previous inspections and the new one. The outcome of these improvements was
reducing the planned task duration by 83% : moving from XXXX to XXXX minutes/month.
5 : Standardization :
Script (example) : As a result of this model, we updated the new standard. Here is an example of the
new CIL task OPL. Also, we made sure that the standard has a successful golden triangle. The standard
have been written and shared, the owners were defined and the visual management is tracked via the
DDS cycle and also using e-CIL tool.
