3 0
1. Center sets huddle 6 yards from the LOS.
2. All eyes on QB.
3. QB has complete control of the huddle.
4. QB will give play call & snap count.
5. If you do not hear what is said, yell “Check.”
6. "Break" is the signal to leave the huddle. Clap hands on the break.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS

 Everyone move swiftly in & out of the huddle to Create Quick Tempo.
 The huddle reflects the attitude of our offense – keep the huddle sharp.
 QB is the only guy who talks.
QB DOES ALL THE TALKING & WILL GIVE THE FOLLOWING INFO:

1. Shift / Fly (Shift, Fly)

2. Formation & Strength (Strong Rt, I Lt, Double Rt, etc.)
3. Formation Variation (Book, Nasty, Close, etc.)
4. Motion (Z Rt, Y Lt, F Short, etc.)
5. Hole / Pass Protection (18, 200 Jet, etc.)
6. Run or Pass Concept (Force, Z Curl Burst, etc.)
7. Snap Count (On Quick, On One, On Two, etc.)
8. “Ready Break!”

Examples

 “I Rt 19 Weak – On The Quick – Ready Break.”

 “Bunch Rt Y Ctr – 3 Jet Z Curl Burst – On One – Ready Break.”

SNAP COUNTS

 Quick (“Set-Hut”)
 Long (“Set-Hut…Hut”)
 One (“Set-Hut…White 80…White 80…Set-Hut”)
 Two (“Set-Hut…White 80…White 80…Set-Hut…Hut”)
 Dummy (“Set-Hut…Black 80…Black 80…Set-Hut...Hut-Hut”)
 Will always use Black as the color.

 Whenever the QB goes on the Dummy or on Two, expect for him to

accentuate the 1st hut to try to draw the defense offsides.

 Code words can be used as a reminder of the snap count if somebody forgets
the cadence as we are walking up to the LOS.
 Red = Quick Count
 White = On One
 Blue = On Two

 Yellow = Long Count

 Black = Dummy Count
CADENCE

 QB starts cadence with “Set-Hut.” Everyone must be set!

 QB will give a color & 2 digit number to each side (as long as we are not on
Quick or Long count).
 Only use White as the color in the cadence.
 Black is for Dummy Count only.
 Cadence must sound consistent between each QB.
 Must be used as a weapon to keep the defense off-balance.

DUMMY COUNT

 Used to get the defense to show their coverage & gives the QB the ability to
change the play if needed, either through an Audible, Oscar or Can.
 Will use the color Black to remind everybody on offense that we are not
snapping the ball on the 1st cadence.
 The 2nd cadence will always be on one & be used with the colors Red, White
or Blue (only if Audible).
 Example:
 Huddle call: “I Rt 18 Force ‘Can’ 19 Weak On The Dummy.”
 Cadence: “Set-Hut…Black 80…Black 80…Set-Hut…Hut-Hut...White
80…White 80…Set-Hut.” (The defense did not give us a bad look, so
the QB kept the initial play on).

RHINO-RHINO

 Term used to change the snap count to quick count at the LOS.
 Will mostly be used if the play clock is running down or if the defense isn’t
lined-up when we get to the LOS.
 Example:
 Huddle call: “Double Rt 200 Jet Z Dragon Lion On One.”
 QB breaks the huddle & notices a few seconds left on the play clock.
 Instead of getting a delay of game or trying to rush the cadence, he will
simply say “Rhino…Rhino…Set-Hut.”
OSCAR

 Gives us the ability to change the direction of a play out of a mirrored

formation such as Solo or North Clamp.
 We will always run the initial play unless the word “Oscar” is used
somewhere within the cadence. This tells everyone that we are flipping the
play in the opposite direction.
 Whenever the QB “Oscars” the play, he will signal to the WR’s.
 Oscar will always be alerted in the huddle.
 Example:
 Huddle call: “Solo Rt 18 Alert Oscar.”
 Cadence: “Set-Hut…Oscar, Oscar…White 80…White 80…Set-Hut.”
 Play now becomes Solo Rt 19.

CAN

 Allows us to change a play at the LOS without using an audible.

 2 plays will be called in the huddle.
 We will always run the 1st play called, unless the word “Can” is used
somewhere within the cadence.
 Whenever the QB “Cans” the play, he will signal to the WR’s.
 Example:
 Huddle call: “Trips Rt 19 Wanda ‘Can’ 18 Support.”
 Cadence: “Set-Hut…White 80…Can, Can…White 80…Set-Hut.”
 Play now becomes Trips Rt 18 Support.

FLIPPER

 Gives the QB the ability to flip the protection.

 Example:
 Huddle call: “Trips Rt 3 Jet Hooters.”
 Cadence: “Set-Hut…Flipper, Flipper…White80…White 80…Set-Hut.”
 Protection now becomes 2 Jet.
AUDIBLES

 QB can change the play at the LOS by using the words “Easy Easy” in the
cadence, followed by the play number & concept (if needed).
 All Audibles will be on Rhino.
 Example:
 “Set-Hut...Easy Easy…19 Weak, 19 Weak… Rhino, Rhino… Set-Hut.”

RELOAD

 Term used by the QB to change a Can, Oscar, Flipper or Audible back to the
original play call.
 All Reloads will be on Rhino.
 Example:
 Huddle call: “Double Rt 18 ‘Can’ 19 Wanda On One.”
 Cadence: “Set-Hut…Can, Can…White 80… Reload, Reload… Rhino…
Rhino… Set-Hut.”

NASCAR

 Term used in situations where we want to get up to the LOS & snap the ball
before the defense can challenge a play.
 The play will always be Double Rt 18 Structure, regardless of the personnel
that is in the game or the hash.
 Nascar will be on the Rhino.

DAYTONA

 Similar to Nascar in terms of getting up to the LOS fast & snapping the ball
before the defense is ready.
 The play will always be Spread Rt 2 Jet Both Drag Go, regardless of the
personnel that is in the game or the hash.
 Daytona will be on the Rhino.
FAST BREAK

 Term used in the huddle by the QB to alert everyone we will break the huddle
and run to the LOS and snap the ball on the quick.
 When the QB alerts everyone the play will be a FASTBREAK we will spend
extra time in the huddle to time up the break of the huddle and everyone
sprinting to their place in the formation.
 Snap Count will always be on the quick
 Formations will always be stagnant
