The indexes show the limits of charts. An asterisk (*) against chart number on diagrams indicates that a panel is shown on that chart In the Folio
Lists a (†) indicates that the chart has not yet been published. (WGS 84) against a chart number indicates that the chart is based on the WGS 84
Spheroid. The index diagrams are based on the Clarke 1880 (Mod) Spheroid.
Limits shown in pecked lines are those of projected charts and are inserted to facilitate the correction of this catalogue.

Early advice, with all available particulars of newly developed dangers, the establishment of or changes in any aids to navigation, is requested.
Form HO-16, on which to render such information, can be obtained gratis from the Hydrographic Office.

The International Hydrographic Organisation is recognised as the world data centre for bathymetry by the Intergovernmental Oceano-
graphic Commission (IOC). RSA collectors of bathymetric data from oceanographic cruises are encouraged to send a copy of such data
to the world data centre for bathymetry via the SA Hydrographic Office. In return, the IHO will make equal amounts of equivalent data
available to the original supplier.
Paper copies of bathymetric plotting sheets may be ordered by their area number e.g. Bathymetric Plotting Sheet 401, (see index above)
through Chart Agents, as listed on page 5, or directly from the Hydrographic Office by mutual exchange basis.
