How Peafowls Live

By: Nevaeh Watson

I am in a place that produces umbrella-like trees, a community that

will make yourself sweat like a moist canine, and where you can hear the
beautiful calls of birds, the rainforest. For decades people that were
prosperous would purchase this creature and would furthermore, would drive
them to their property including having it swagger gracefully similar to a
fashion model about their property with this creature’s much-publicized
feature.
Today my coworker and I detected a prodigious creature. It is strongly
identified by its shockingly colored silk train that exclusively males hold
possession of but not females which are plain as stones. The males tails are
extremely soft like a smooth, flat, cotton ball. My coworker and I studied the
female to why she is plain while the male is brilliantly colored. The female is
plain so she can hide in plain sight in a bush while she is incubating her eggs
from any predators. As we strolled up to her hiding place she inaugurated to
call her pride alerting them that there is a threat which is us. This creature
only uses their shriek to warn the pride to tell them if there is any threat for
example if there are humans approaching them.

The female is observing her mate in the picture

It is the breeding season and my companion and I have regarded the
somewhat outlandish forms the female prefers her mate to appear like. The
female is very particular about how her comrade looks. Based on our data, the
Female desires her mate to have a certain amount of “eyes” on the train. Who
are fringed with “eyes”. Strange but true. The female judged the male also on
the length of his train and including the symmetry of the eyes. Yes, females are
very shrewd about how their mates look like, like us individuals. So if the male
does not have these things he is skating on thin ice. He may not get a mate for
the breeding season. But my companion and I were bewildered at how much
the female animal could act like Cinderella’s three step-sisters who were very
particular at how they looked and that they wanted a prince and a prince only.
This animal is very monogamous.

The owner in this picture is

feeding her animal

Domestication has happened to this animal in our previous studies and

became a problem to the owners and the animal it causing harm or death like
how Cruella Deville who had taken animals from their household. People
have taken this animal from their habitat which can cause them death if you
have possession of a dog. If you own a dog the dog may chase the animal
without consent. This is a bad thing since this animal can stress out easily
which will lead them to death from distress. They are very vulnerable when it
comes to dogs. And if this ever happens to you make sure you get rid of the
body before it starts smelling bad.

Another obstacle is that males also have to defend its region from
separate male rivals during the breeding season and has to become solitary
and combative like Scar from lion king who strived to become king. For
example, as we draw near in our jeep, one of the males jumps on our car
scraping the glass and starts pecking the bodywork probably to defend the
territory not caring about the cracking sound of the glass which was
abnormal. Who may be very rapaciousness about wanting this animal
only? Last but not least is that predators hunt down the males due to their
bright feathers and the predator being hungry. You may be thinking the
predator will catch the male since he has a long train. But no, in some cases
the predator will pull out all the train feathers from the male allowing it to fly
away. But the male will not be able to breed.

It is the last day of our observations the morning sun is beating down
on our backs making up a sweat as if we were human raindrops. The fresh
morning air clearing up our senses from being in a tent. We have now
observed that they have broken up into small troops to find food. We watch
as their swift bodies moved about the ground like a colorful wave. They
forage about the ground to find grain, insects, seeds, and flower parts. But
midday they stopped to rest in the shade while drinking water. They preen
their feathers nice and neatly to their perfect position. Once the weather cools
down they once again forage for food, soon they take their midnight drink
and retreat to their roost, for good night slumber in a tree. I am a Peafowl
