“Well, you know, I won’t cut any corners. I have been pretty rude lately, and I’m
well aware of that. In fact, I think that if I could abjure the insinuations made
throughout the bulk of what I’ve conveyed without losing anymore dignity, I
would.”
Don’t you think you’ll gain some of what you’ve lost if you did?
“Not in a million years. You see, I’ve found that the intensity of human
ignorance is associated with an unwillingness to change. It seems that although
many say they’re willing to change their mind about something or someone, they
tend to voluntarily stick to their beliefs to stay comfortable. Usually, a belief is
chosen as the most favorable concept to confide in from a group of other optional
concepts to choose from.”

And what’s the standard for measuring how a belief should be chosen?
“The standard is up to the person making the decision. You’ll find that it’s
usually based on need.”
So, let’s not step away from the question, Mr. Thompson. The issue here is your rudeness.
What’s the reason for it?
“In all respect, I feel the need to proclaim a stance of extreme moral indifference
before I go on. What I mean is that my personal set of views in regards to what’s
good or bad constantly varies by situation. There are some things I’m quite
stubborn about; but, for the most part, in order to keep my mind open to as many
new ideas as possible, I try to remain impartial. Therefore, in terms of what’s
morally sound, you will find that we share different views.”
Mr. Thompson, I noticed you don’t seem to have a problem with beating around the bush.
“My apologies. Though, I’ve always found that it’s best, when presenting new or
bold ideas to a group of people, to conceptually brace them. It helps
misunderstandings develop within a controlled environment. You give ideas less
room to mutate because there are guidelines.”
Right.
“And that brings me to what you’re asking me for. You see, over the years, I’ve
grown to hold a considerable amount of hatred for mankind’s lack of respect for
complete investigation. I’ve learned that too many of us are only concerned with
the surface of what we’re looking at.”
“Well, I’m tired of the amount of ‘moral standards’ there are. I hate that
everywhere I go I need to worry about what’s considered good or bad. There
should be a universal code of ethics.”

“Of course not! I think your questioning is irrational though; The people staring
at me right now, judging me harshly by my every word are irrational; The fact
that I have to explain myself after being as truthful as everyone insinuates I
should be is irrational! All of it is outrageous! I can create a bible just as dense
as the Christian Bible just by listing the amount of contradictions most of the
people in my audience make. Each of them wants to be right. The majority of
them, however, doesn’t want to come to a consensus on what is right for most
things. They each want to make themselves comfortable by modifying someone
else’s standard to suit their own situation.”
“Rash? You have the audacity to ask me if I’m being rash after standing here, in
your own two shoes, holding me hostage using my own declining reputation
against me? Don’t insult me anymore than you already have.”
Mr. Thompson, you’re not taking any of this the right way.
The load of people you spoke around want an explanation for what you said. They all wonder
why any of it was said. Everyone wants the truth.
“Everyone wants the truth… You finally said something worth respecting. With
that on the table, you shouldn’t mind my next question.”
Sure.
Until all that is necessary to say is said without any evasion of the correct details.
“And what exactly are the correct details then? Are they objective ones? What if
the only details I know are subjective? What exactly am I supposed to convey
then? Sir, you’re failing to set aside your own views in order to see what’s going
on here.”
“Are you? That’s the problem with all of you. You’re too quick to say that you
don’t judge anyone or use anyone else’s judgments before knowing what you’re
about to encounter. Then, you get angry when someone, whom holds no problem
with the inevitability of such judgments subconsciously being made, voices their
opinions. All of you are delusional.”

Excuse me?
“All of you are painfully deluded. I said what I said after careful reasoning, and
none of you understood that. To top it all off, none of you felt the need to take the
time to view what I was saying in black and white. That’s one of your main
problems. Everyone wants to see all of the colors of the rainbow before knowing
that there’s a black and white that coexist on their own. Then, when something is
said or done that seems to go against what they ultimately consider ideal, they
complain. The problem there is that there is no ultimate ideal, and people change
too much, but hate change!”
“How? It’s my view, isn’t it? You have yours and I have mine.”
Yes, but—
“So, sir, what constitutes validity in your current conclusion? For all we know, I
could be right and you could be wrong. But if we were to assume that you’re
right, we’d have to assume that each and every one of the people surrounding you
is right.”
How is that?
“It’s because you’re imposing loose rules that do nothing but benefit you. They
give you the upper hand. Shouldn’t that mean that everyone else has their own
say in what they perceive and declare as what’s right or wrong? Or are you bold
enough to stifle the conceptual movement of those who respect and disrespect
you?”
You’re wrong.
“God damn it! By Kant’s categorical imperative, it does! All of you asked for
my opinion. Most of you told me to be honest. What other form of honesty
should I have expressed? I have no other forms! I’m being scrutinized for doing
something you all asked me to do?”
“Inappropriate? To whom?”

To many.
I have a feeling that I’m going to regret allowing you to continue, but what?
“All of us should walk around as mutes for a day. Let’s see what’s looked at as
right and wrong amongst billions of people once we’re unable to use words to
express ourselves. Then, let’s count the amount of implicative terms of
appropriateness that happens to develop. After that, let’s count how many of our
current morals still stand, even where silence is at the pillar of mankind’s set of
ultimate adversities. Let’s see what’s inappropriate then.”
