1.4 STOP WORK POLICY

DMZC management shall implement Stop work Policy in order to prevent


untoward incident whether in work site or off sites. This will include loss
prevention in maintaining a safe and secure area against any risk or exposure to
personal harm, property damage or adverse effects to the environment.
Therefore, it is the duty and the right of every employee regardless of position to
implement this Stop Work Policy when employee, company assets and Saudi
Aramco assets are in grave danger and potential damage. Management supports
the assessment of the situation by its employees in the careful implementation of
these Policies as clearly stated below:

 Any condition which allows and employee to do work with no appropriate


training or protective equipment required by applicable safety policy of Saudi
Aramco.
Example: Labor work Performing scaffolding erection that was not trained or
certified to erection and not using fall arrest system.
 Any condition which allows and employee to do work that is unsafe or hazardous
and not in accordance with safety practices.
Example: Allowing employee to use disc grinder without proper guarding.
 Any condition arises from an unsafe action or behavior by intentionally ignoring
or not acting or reporting same to his supervisor and if such act or condition that
was allowed will constitute a potential danger or incident/accident.
Example: Employee observed horseplay; one did a karate stunt near Stack of
protruding steel bars. Employee committed non-action by not reporting the
unsafe act to his supervisor.

Who will stop the work? Any person regardless of position, seniority or discipline
has the right to apply immediately the Stop Work Policy if in his belief such act or
condition will constitute to potential danger.

You are hereby reminded to observe the Stop Work Policy in all premises of
DMZC and Saudi Aramco, mainly to disallow any unsafe act or behavior and
unsafe site condition in all operational areas. The following conditions shall be
grounds of the stop work policy,

1. Any condition which allows an employee to do work with no appropriate training


or protective equipment require by applicable safety policy of Saudi Aramco.
2. Any condition which allows an employee to do work that is unsafe or hazardous
and not in accordance with safety practices.
3. Any condition arises from an unsafe condition or behavior by intentionally
ignoring or not acting or reporting same to his supervisor and if such act or
condition that was allowed will constitute a potential danger or
incident/accident.

Further, any person regardless of position or personality has the right to apply the Stop
Work Policy immediately if in his belief such act or condition will constitute to potential
danger.

Additionally work that was discontinued due to a Stop Work order shall not be resumed
unless all safety measures had been introduced and acceptable to all concerned.
