PREFACE

In B.B.A., as a part of education we have to prepare an


industrial report. B.B.A. is a special management
programme where the management as knowledge is given
during the year & which is more related with the practical
work of managerial field.
By joining B.B.A. I am very pleased to get a chance to
visit one company and made the report on it by getting

HISTORY
K.D. Kitchenware Pvt. Ltd., an India based, ISO 9001-2000
certified Company started manufacturing "ACTION" brand
kitchenware in the year 1997. At present, company has a product
range of over more than 70 products. Company is having its
nationwide distribution network and exporting its products through
leading Export house of Rajkot and Mumbai, to majority of the
countries of the world. The imperative need for market expansion
necessitated for capturing of overseas markets, and so the company
has successfully entered into export area recently.

Mr. Ashok Manvar, Managing Director of the company, an expert


in dies and tools making, looks after the marketing along with
overall management of the company while Mr. Ramesh Manvar,
one of the Directors of the company, looks after the production of
the company.

In its quest for quality, "ACTION" always strives to give its

The K.D. KITCHNWARE PVT. LTD. Had established in


1997 at 19, samrat industrial area, Gondal road, B/H. S.T.
workshop, Rajkot – 360004 (India). But at present time it is
situated at village dholara, dist. Rajkot.

Introduction is the heart of any unit or industry. It is
necessary that production run very effectively and efficiently then
they can complete their order in time.

Production means to convert raw material into final product.


Every process for converting into final product I known as
production process.

RAW-MATERIAL
In any of the production process the raw-material plays very
important role. In the company the raw-material is essentially
required. In the K.D. KITCHNWARE PVT. LTD. in production
process they used following things:-

PLANT LAYOUT
Plant layout is the all arrangement of the production process. The
room of working, stock room, tool room, etc, as it encompasses
production and service facility and provide for the most effective
utilization of resources contributing. The process, it is a master
blue print for co-ordination of all operations performance inside
the factory.

According to prof. F.G.Moore a good layout is one which all owns


material rapidly and directly for processing. This reduces
transportation handling and other costs down per unit. Space
requirements are minimized and it reduces idle machine and idle
man time.

QUALITY CONTROL

K.D. KITCHENWARE PVT. LTD. has its own inspection


plan for all the components and its processes at different stages of
production.

1. Incoming Material Inspection :-


All the materials coming to the company from different
sources has to undergo inspection and testing as per inspection
plan before it goes to stores. Raw material incoming from the
approved steel mills are kept in the stock yard and 100% visual
examination and spark testing is done. Chemical, metallurgical and
physical testing is also carried out as per the control plan or as per
customer’s requirements. After approval of the material in the
laboratory, color code is given to each and every bar as per the
material grade. Physical testing e.g. upset test, step turn test, tensile
test, impact test; macro etching is also carried out. Metallurgical
testing of the material e.g. Inclusion Rating, Grain Flow, and
Microstructure is also carried out.

2. Process Inspection:-
Inspection is carried out at every stage of production at
different stages e.g. cutting shop, buffing shop, embossing shop,
cleaning shop, molding shop packing shop, dispatch shop. Each
shop or processing department has its own inspection plan to
satisfy the customer’s needs depending upon the experience.

3. Final Inspection :-
All the parts coming this shop are shot blasted and following
inspections are carried out as per plan.

PROUCTION CAPACITY

Production capacity is actual production of the company at


any of the year. The production capacity is major depend on the
production capacity of machinery of the company. The production
capacity of the K.D. KITCHNWARE PVT. LTD. is 4,82,000
pieces (approximately)

The Company ensures that any product, which bears the


stamp of the company, is of supreme Quality. The products are
benchmarked for quality and anything falling short of the required
standard is rejected at the outset. To ensure quality, the company
has also acquired ISO 9001-2000 Certificate.

After visiting K.D. KITCHENWARE PVT. LTD. I have


some minor suggestions in my mind for company.

Company has to develop its own research center regarding
