Part I Cultural Analysis

I. INTRODUCTION

Pythons is a local company in the Philippines and an exporter of locally made

products. Its main product for exportation is the Banana Blossom Fritters.
Basically, banana blossom acts as a substitute to the meat used on most of the
fritters’ recipe. Still adapting the common patty, banana blossoms are mixed with
usual ingredients, shallow fried and served whether as a lunch viand, a burger
patty or a side snack.
For this product, we choose the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as our export location.
Banana trees are commonly found on tropical areas where certain conditions
(humidity, ample amount of sunlight) are met to support their growth. However,
the vegetation condition of UAE is not suitable for growing banana trees.
Furthermore, this opens a market opportunity because of the topographical and
vegetation differences of the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.

II. BRIEF HISTORY

United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates along the eastern coast
of the Arabian Peninsula. This includes Dubai, Saudi Arabia and its capital, Abu
Dhabi. The nation is historically influenced by the Persian culture due to its
proximity to Iran. It also has a rich maritime border that made it possible for naval
transactions from other countries to commence. UAE gained its autonomy right
after the World War II with the city of Abu Dhabi as its first capital. The stability of
UAE was tested by family rivalries and feuds concerning territories across the state
and the well-known Persian Gulf War.
