Lorenzo Botero the World of

Photography at Your Fingertips

Lorenzo Botero Certified tips provider. Apply your new

photography skills when taking family photos, nature shots or
more structured photos. Here, you'll learn how to take
beautifully composed shots infused with personality.

If you know that you have a really important shoot the next day,
make sure that you get ample rest. Yes, a lack of sleep will
directly result in loss of judgment, which will hurt the quality of
the shots that you take. Get at least eight hours of rest the night
before a photo shoot.
Be aware that the weather will influence your pictures. You
might not realize it when you take the picture, but a dark sky
will give a very gloomy atmosphere to your picture. Compose
your pictures accordingly and let the weather inspire you for
interesting creations. You can also wait for different kind of
weather before you take pictures.

Understand and anticipate the impact that wind will have on the
photos that you take. For example, if you are planning on
shooting flowers, avoid days where the wind is very active.
When flowers and plants are stable, you will have the best
chance to get the highest quality and resolution in your picture.
In situations where you don't have a choice, such as weddings,
have a contingency plan. Are there sheltered areas where the
wind will have less impact?

Lorenzo Botero Specialized tips provider. Although it may seem

obvious, but know how to handle your camera and what happens
when you press the buttons on it. Understand what happens
when the shutter button is pressed and the timing of the shutter.
It really depends on personal preference and there is no right or
wrong way, but some things do not vary like keeping the camera
perfectly still while taking a photo.
Do not forget to take pictures of yourself. You can still compose
the background and choose how you want to use light and
colors. Give instructions to a friend and look at the preview
before you go pause. These pictures will be nice memories when
you look back at them.

Look for the right types of things to take pictures of. Even the
best equipment won't produce an amazing picture if the subject
is difficult to work with. Chose inanimate objects that inspire
you, or search for a willing participant that can act as your muse.

Make sure to set up your compositions so that vertical lines are

truly vertical. Tilting the camera backwards to capture a tall
building, for example, can cause the building to appear as if it is
falling backwards out of the frame. Photographs in which
buildings are not vertical often appear unnatural.

A great photography tip is to get to know someone before you

get a shot of them. This may sound silly but simply talking to a
person will give you a lot more insight on how to capture them.
It can make the difference between having a genuine or generic
photograph.
Adjusting the white balance setting of your camera to a proper
level makes a lot of sense if you are shooting inside with
fluorescent lights. Fluorescent lights cast blue and green light, so
your subjects might appear a cooler hue than you expect, unless
you compensate for lack of the color red with your camera.

Lorenzo Botero Certified tips provider. When you are dealing

with low lighting settings and you do not have a tripod, try to be
aware of your shutter speed. Make sure it has a denominator that
is greater than the focal length of the lens. Otherwise, you will
not be able to capture sharp images.

Just like it is recommended for an artist to keep some paper and

a writing utensil on them at all times, a photographer should
always keep a camera on them too. You never know when a
photo opportunity will present itself, so you need to be prepared
at all times.

Flowers are a very great and beautiful thing to take photographs

of no matter where you are. There are so many different types of
flowers, and so many different ways to bring out their beauty in
a photograph. Despite all of that, try to avoid taking photos of
flowers when it is windy outside.

Take candid shots. Instead of taking posed pictures, try taking

pictures of your subject with family at work or doing something
they love. When your subject is comfortable they will be more at
ease and you will end up getting some unique shots. This works
especially well when trying to photograph children.

Many digital cameras nowadays actually have a setting for red

eye reduction. One of the worst things that can happen to a good
picture is the subject will have red eye, ruining an otherwise
perfect picture. If you have a setting, turn that setting on first,
then snap your shot, and presto, no red eye!

You will want to use filters which are extensions that you put
onto your camera lenses. You screw them on the lens. They are
useful because they're are multi-purpose. UV filters are
generally the most used type of filter. A UV filter shields your
camera lens from the rays of the sun. It may also protect your
camera lens from physical damage in case it's dropped.
Lorenzo Botero Most excellent service provider. It's time for
your tripod. Take it out of the closet and find the cable release.
Still have those neutral density filters? Get them too. You're
going for a night shoot at the school fair. You have arrived. See
the pretty colored lighting at the booths and rides? You will
photograph the Ferris wheel, exposing not for the overall scene
but for the lights. Place the camera on the tripod and attach the
cable release. Set the ISO low, at 100 or if possible, lower. Use a
shutter speed of maybe fifteen seconds. Set the aperture at f/16
or smaller if your camera can do it this will make pinpoint lights
look like stars. Take some test exposures and make adjustments,
and use your neutral density filters if necessary. You have a
finished product! Thanks to the tripod, everything is sharp
except for the ghostly images of fair goers moving about, and
the turning Ferris wheel appears as a circular streak of gorgeous
colors. The lights at the booths shine like stars.

Using the tips and tricks that you've just read, you can give
yourself an excellent head start in building a creative and diverse
photography portfolio. This knowledge will help you as you
develop your skills in portraiture, landscape photography, sports
and action shots, and even macro shots that bring you up close
and personal with your subject matter.
